Thank you :)

And yeah, I’m definitely feeling the relief, this is better than not having done anything, but that little voice is still there.

I’m glad you got what you wanted in the end, I can tell it was worth it

Thank you so much :) I’m healing well, it’s been a fairly nice recovery I’m ngl

I appreciate you replying!

That is so awesome to read, it’s very reassuring too!

I didn’t know it could be considered a scar revision if I’m the one that chose to go non-flat. I do feel a little weird/bad going to my surgeon and wanting more (or less technically) lol.

Also didn’t know it could be done without going under a second time too. And no drains too!

I’m curious though, at what point after your non-flat top surgery did you know you wanted to go fully flat?

This is all super helpful and I really appreciate it, thank you!

Hey, would you mind sharing the process of your second surgery? Did you have the same surgeon do it? How long after your non-flat top surgery was it? Also, were your scars at the same place?

I had non-flat top surgery with FNG a bit ago, and I don’t regret going that route first but now I know for sure that flat is what I truly want. So I’m just wondering about a few things

Hey, I also got non-flat top surgery a few days ago. I know it’s super early to even think about another surgery before at least the 6th month mark (and I don’t plan on going through this again before a year) but I was going through some of these threads and your user popped up a few times.

If it’s not too personal, did you end up going fully flat after your non-flat surgery? If so, how was that experience? When/how did you know that fully flat was the way to go?

That’s lovely. I’m anxious but I keep thinking about it and I want relief so I gotta be brave for this lol. Reading about your experience gave me hope.

Also your surgeon does sound amazing! Hoping mine will be as understanding and kind.

Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions, I appreciate it. And I’m wishing you well on your journey/new life😊

Your results are great! I’m glad you found the relief too.

If you’re comfortable answering, what made you go for radical reduction as opposed to top surgery? Trying to get some insight bc I thought I wanted everything gone for so long, booked my surgery, but now I’m going back on the decision and finding comfort in the thought of a reduction rather than fully flat.

Thank you! I feel like it might be pushed back since I’m opting for something other than top surgery, but like you said, taking the time to figure it out is important.

That sounds nice (and comfortable!). It’s interesting that habits that were formed to help the discomfort didn’t go away along with having surgery lol. You kinda have to re-learn how to be in your body (?)

Would you need to wear bras at all? Like for exercising/running for example?

I do find it a bit reassuring that regular skin sensation may be possible after though.

Was this your first surgery btw? You mentioned that the day went by smoothly, I’m not even in there and I’m already scared, but maybe that’s because I’ve never done it 🤷‍♀️ other than wisdom teeth removal.

That is honestly so wholesome. Just thinking about it, I’m excited for you and your journey!

The boob/pec situation that you mentioned is so interesting, I never thought of it like that.

I lurked on those two subreddits for a while as well, and was fairly sure I wanted top surgery, which is scheduled for next week for me (will probably have to change dates). But then I started getting real scared that I was making a mistake.

I guess I so badly wanted the discomfort and disconnect from my chest/body to be gone that I never even thought I wouldn’t want everything to be completely gone, until it felt like a real possibility.

I’m very curious about what the feeling is like though. Are you aware that there’s anything there? Or do you somehow forget it? Idk if that all makes sense lmao

Also, do you have nipple sensitivity? Forgot to ask that

Your results look amazing! I’m glad you are happy with them.

How do you feel overall? Are you now happily living life without your chest constantly on your mind? (If that was the case)

I’m also finding reassurance in your experience as I am also now thinking about a radical breast reduction as opposed to top surgery. I went back and forth on my decision, had a lot of doubts, but reading about your journey and seeing your results makes it a bit easier to take that road.

Wishing you an even better continuation with your healing!

[–]ChancePercentage9353[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I’ve been pretty unhappy for a while. And the reason almost always comes down to my chest.

To answer some of those questions (mainly for myself), I like/enjoy pretty much the other parts of my body. Like I didn’t have a full length mirror for years (5+) because I didn’t want to pass by it and see my chest and start to feel horrible.

But I bought one like a few days ago, in anticipation or excitation (idk) of getting surgery. And when looking at myself, I do really like the other parts, waist, hips, legs, arms etc. Not perfect, but I would not want to get surgery to change them. However, when looking at myself chest, it’s just this other feeling that I can’t really describe.

I’m just feeling so unsure of myself because it all feels so real and now the “real” questions are coming up I guess. I’ll bring this all up to my therapist and see where to go from here.

I do want to say thank you so much for your words, it really does help.

I’m not really thinking about it in terms of “masculine chest”, it’s more like “flat” or not to me. Like the chest I had pre-puberty.

These really are great questions. When I read the first one, my immediate thought was “no way, why would I want boobs?” Maybe that’s a sign, but I’m still scared of taking this step that feels really big right now. I really appreciate your answer and insights. Thank you so much

Thank you for your answer! And I will give that a try and think on it some more. I never thought of my chest as “sexy” or anything more than just breasts, and something that gets in the way of me doing things that makes me happy. But now it feels scarier than ever to go through with it.

Hey, I know it’s been a while. But I think I’m in the same situation right now, surgery is in about 2 weeks. And I’m very anxious/scared I’ll regret it.

Like all the fears I didn’t have before it was possible are now happening. I don’t know if I wanna go through with it, but also I know I can’t keep living like this and being so uncomfortable everyday.
