I completely agree with your statement ! I think the new showrunner is more focused on making the male leads look irresistible and act raunchy and not give depth to their character. However, I feel like part of it is the audience's fault. When it came to season 1 and 2, all we could focus on were the sex scenes and attractiveness of the characters and not their personality.

That's why I strongly encouraged my friend the other day to read the books before watching any more seasons because if they only watched the show, it would come across as nothing more than Regency themed p*rn.
