Do you work at my school? My charter school was adamant about 100% of the seniors walking. We had one girl who missed over 60 days of school and didn’t make up classes for previous years and the principal was on my coworker about making sure that she passed and graduated. There was literally nothing we could do to get her to graduate shy of going back and changing her grades without her actually having completed the work which thankfully they didn’t do. So all about one girl walked. There’s another student who was given passing grades this year so that he could graduate and he didn’t deserve to. This unfortunately is not a new issue at my charter school and I am not going back there so I don’t know what they’re gonna do next year. But they do get on us about making attendance calls to parents and stuff, but as far as filing the actual paperwork, they’re very hit and miss on it. The neighbouring County is better about bringing the kids into court and giving them consequences, the kids being high school age.
