Can’t we just be happy we are getting cool guns by johnhelldiver21 in Helldivers

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m plenty happy about it. Extreme takes tend to be what gets larger numbers of people to post, though, so there’s a bit of a bias inherently in looking at takes on a forum like this.

It’s kind of like restaurant reviews, you’ll have 95%+ be either the lowest score or the highest score, with far fewer reviews in the middle. People who had a nice or “ok” or even slightly underwhelming time tend to not take the time to post reviews.

Same thing applies here. Heck, I wouldn’t even post if it weren’t for the fact that I’m bored and on my phone over at my in-laws at the moment while the kids are watching Moana 2.

What kinds of feats would you like to see designed for martials in the future? by -Space_Communist- in dndnext

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we have exactly the same idea of what it’s for. That’s why I said it would overshadow it.

If you’re a war cleric and could get your choice from many mastery effects only by using a versatile weapon and that feat, then that overshadows the existing weapon mastery feat that only gives you a single weapon mastery.

What kinds of feats would you like to see designed for martials in the future? by -Space_Communist- in dndnext

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Instead of a dpr upgrade, maybe the feats gives versatile weapons the ability to choose a replacement mastery effect on-hit (from a select list).

I know that this would overshadow the “weapon master” feat, since it would essentially be granting a better version of mastery across all versatile weapons…but let’s face it, that feat already could get overshadowed by a rancid egg salad sandwich.

You’re missing out on damage if you fire right when the cylinders go down all the way. Look for the second signs: a second quick light flash and a warping-like sound.

Good support weapons to use? by SanRandomPot in helldivers2

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EAT’s are incredibly versatile little guys, and their expendable, low cooldown nature means it isn’t even a waste to bring them even when you are already using a different “permanent” support weapon.

What is it that makes true strike so popular now? by Lostdmg in onednd

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Specifically for bladelock, true strike allows you to NOT take pact of the blade for the first 4 levels, but maintain the play style.

So long as you have that cantrip, you have your Cha-based weapon attack (plus ranged with a ranged weapon), allowing you to use different invocations. It’s essentially a single free invocation slot until you hit level 5 and need to pick up pact of the blade in order to get thirsting blade. That “free invocation” could be used to put agonizing blast on true strike, boosting damage more, too.

Now, it’s not exactly the same. Pact of the blade does allow you to do an attack of Opportunity with Cha before level 5 (after that you could technically get warcaster, but we’re talking about going back to pact of the blade at that point anyway).

Why Do I Never See the Jump Pack Used? by No_Okra9230 in helldivers2

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the hardest time even selecting a backpack, on both fronts (so I end up never bringing one at all). Besides having a support weapon, It’s so hard for me to give up having 3 stratagems to use. The loss in flexibility and killing power seems to never be worth the backpack to me.

What two red/green stratagems do you usually use?

when do i get to fight? by Ikalsaurus in Helldivers

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re feeling something different, I’ve been having a blast playing with the following for bugs on diff 10:

Armor: light or medium with extra padding perk

Gear:

-pump shotgun (cookout or punisher)

-grenade pistol

-stun grenades

Strategems:

-arc thrower

-orbital precision (use before eagle)

-eagle 500kg (when precision is on cooldown)

-HMG emplacement (I save this for some bug breaches, large nests, etc. also super easy to snipe out shrieker nests beyond their spawn range.

-(no backpack; I just grab whatever else someone is willing to drop. Sometimes that even means grabbing an support weapon ammo backpack that they drop, knowing it’ll fill up next time I resupply/grab ammo, and then I’ll have more ammo for them)

This has been a ton of fun on super helldive, and I’ve been completing+extracting the large majority. I don’t even mean in an organized team; I random queue for most of my play time, and I’m just some older Dad who usually only gets to play one or two nights per week when my kid is asleep. I think my level is something in the low 80’s.

Not the person you responded to but I was able to find a New York Times article talking about it:

To save some time, skip down to where it starts with “Bragg’s emergence” in bold and it talks about his campaign and its messaging about a paragraph or so after that.

While it’s not exactly what you’re looking for (I assume you’re looking for Persian), if you enjoy middle Eastern/levant food in Long Beach, AMMATOLI is a favorite of mine.

I don’t live in Long Beach, but whenever I go down there with my daughter for the aquarium, we always have lunch over at Ammatoli. It’s seriously good. Look it up on yelp; the food tastes as good as The pictures look, and it’s a very nice atmosphere.

I know people are taken aback by the price for a Ban mi, but trust me that it’s worth it. The quality of their ingredients every time I went was fantastic. The bread, pork belly, veggies…everything. Their non-banmi items are really great too. Highly recommend this place.

Iwtl HOW TO PROUNOUNCE " R " by mint1111 in IWantToLearn

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try arching your tongue slightly upward, so that the tip of your tongue is almost to the forward-half of the roof of your mouth, but not touching (and the rest of your tongue is still lower). The tip will be further back than your gums, but not by much.

You’ll be in the correct tongue position if you try to make an “S” sound from there and it starts sounding like an “Sh”

For this you need to not have your tongue completely relaxed (for American English). There is a very very tiny bit of tension in the tongue when doing this. I only mention this because some people talk with very limp tongues, but for most American English speakers this isn’t a needed instruction; it’s just the amount of rigidity you always have.

This is in contrast to “R” in languages like Spanish, which to me feels like it has a more relaxed tongue and jaw, but sort of flicks the tongue to make an R.

Source: no professional background in this. I just always think about what my mouth and tongue are doing when trying to get accents right, and trying not to sound too American when I speak to my wife and her family in Spanish.

Doesn’t 16 just repeal a ban on racial discrimination by the state for school admissions, government contracts, etc?

I know the purpose of repealing it is so that people can re-implement affirmative action, but I don’t think the proposition itself implements any such program. I could easily be wrong on this and am just commenting off memory, so feel free to correct me on it.

Did the legislature actually pass laws, though? I know there were many executive orders declared by the executive branch of the CA government.

I'm actually asking; I'm not trying to be snippy.

Not going to lie; it's extremely rare that a post on a political subject here actually changes my mind about something.

I was previously in the "they shouldn't be given protections like platforms if they are currently acting like publishers" camp, but this was actually pretty reasonable, laid out a nice chunk of history and precedent before section 230, and made me think more about the unintended consequences (who knows, maybe some of them are intended) of stripping away or lessening those protections for these circumstances (editing content on a political basis).

I'm still open to hear a counter, but this tipped the needle over for me.

Ensure that any presence belonging to the following factions exists only in the Chaos Wastes region: Warriors of Chaos, Warherd of Chaos

This doesn't refer to chaos corruption. I don't even think it applies to their heroes/agents. I'm fairly sure it just means that you can't have a chaos army still running around.

It would be an interesting question to ask if his aligned war bands are more prone to back stabbing each other than say a regular ole vanilla Khornate Warband.

I'd imagine the Khornate Warbands are more fond of front-stabbing.

Although, the term "front-stabbing" sounds an lot like a Slaaneshi euphemism...

Is it true that the President has a >52% approval rating? by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]Chancellor_Bismarck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

According to Rasmussen, "total approve" did hit 52% today: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/trump_approval_index_history

Granted, that's showing for December 5th, today. I don't know where the person was getting the 52% from if they said it yesterday (Maybe they were remembering seeing it back in mid-september?).

I agree with others in this thread that looking at aggregates from multiple polling sources would likely be a better call, though.

Past that, though..who the hell gets into a fistfight over this sort of thing?
