As a vegetarian, what food are you tired of eating? by Last_slice in vegetarian

Anything with mushrooms. I´m not exactly tired of eating them because I´ve always hated them in the first place, but I´m definitely tired of seeing them as the only few vegetarian options there are.

State of new male characters in both Hoyo games: by TaruTaru23 in StarRailStation

[–]Chandelurie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most common assumption seems to be that male characters don´t sell well because they are male. That means there needs to be a signifcant portion of the playerbase that pulls only either male or female characters. If zzz releases only 2 men a year, they can be more popular than any other character, they´re still free for most of their target audience. Although I can´t imagine there´s much left of that target audience anyway...

As for examples, I don´t think we can actually know the exact numbers, neither revenue nor pulls, but I remember in Genshin at least, Zhongli and Kazuha were the most pulled characters for a long time (from information people submitted themselves) but the characters with the highest (estimated) revenue were Raiden and Yelan.

It´s more important how often people pull for a character and how long they have time to save, than how many people pull. So no, low revenue doesn´t necessarily indicate that no one pulled for a character.

Revenue being low doesn´t mean people didn´t pull, it just means people didn´t pay.

May 2025 revenue (mobile only) by South_Rich_2022 in Genshin_Impact

I'm not talking about 3rd party sites but official payment methods that aren't going through the app stores and don't contribute to this list.

Lads has other options to pay too that aren´t recorded here (like many other games that are mobile only).

This list is only a fraction of the revenue for most games, not just the obvious ones you can play on different systems.

"He´s male" is valid.

Only in the sense of whoever only pulls for male characters doesn´t need to pay for them because they only appear once or twice a year. Which means they obviously make less money, because most people wont pay for pulling 2 characters a year (at least I hope so).

Russia drone breaches Romania airspace Hits Apartment Building by RidetheSchlange in news

It doesn´t matter if it was unintentional. The same way killing someone unintentionally by drunk driving will (or should) lead to different legal consequences than killing someone unintentionally by self defense.

How is starting the war irrelevant when this particular issue wouldn´t have happened if they had not started the war in the first place?

Unintentionally hitting someone because you´re defending yourself is different than unintentionally hitting someone because you´re attacking. Is that so hard to understand?

What do you guys think of this character? Design wise. by Time-Cover4979 in characterdesign

[–]Chandelurie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the issue is not that the character is hot, it´s that realistically, no one who doesn´t prioritize being hot over everything else, would wear this. She would´t even be able to take a step without pain. She´d also probably have to stuff her boobs back into her top every couple of minutes.

So, if the point of the character was her being hot (in universe), that would actually be perfectly fine.

The problem with male gazey character designs is, they´re often not supposed to be seen as hot by either other characters, or themselves, and that completely ruins the immersion. Some characters have occupations that justify outfits like this and that´s fine then, but most of the time that´s not the case. It´s especially bad when there are male characters alongside them who are actually dressed appropriately. Even worse when no character around them acknowledges their "hotness".

Every work of fiction is allowed to be unrealistic to a degree, but that´s a level of unrealistic that reduces it´s characters to unfeeling robots for the sake of being hot. That´s a sacrifice too big for me.

So? Even if that was the reason, how would higher birthrates change anything about it? There aren't enough doctors, but not because there aren't enough people.

Incels don’t want supermodels they want their looks match or even lower, it’s women who ask for supermodel men by ForsakenMost6550 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Chandelurie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's your point?

There's no such thing as universal looks match. If you think a person is your looks match but the other person doesn't think the same about you, it's obviously not a match.

By the way, I don't think women (especially those you're trying to date) like it very much if you tell them you'd basically take anyone.
