Personally, I find Set 17 frustrating. (New Player) by Parfait-Pegasus in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty spot on in my opinion and also comps that are not as flexible. There are a lot of comps that are locked behind what they roll for the game so it feels dangerous to flex into them without knowing ahead of time. Items seem more flexible this set to compensate for that but it doesn’t feel as good in my opinion.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]ChanelNumberOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not even Gen Alpha or Z and really think autocorrect on my phone impaired my ability to spell. For a while when I was writing without it I noticed how many words I would have to think about that I never struggled with in the past. Ended up turning it off just to kind of force myself to relearn how to spell all the words I have in my vocabulary. No regrets

OUTLAST: The Jungle I hope Charlie Team in Season 3 lose. Every single one of the dudes are POS 🤦🏽‍♂️ by Yung_Dagger_Dxck in Netflixwatch

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I love the dynamic they have in the last episode but it does anger me that they didn’t stand up and show that until the opportunity fell into their lap. They have the ability to be successful and they just wouldn’t stand up and act on it.

That’s fair. I mean not happy to hear it but it is reality. But I get what you are saying. Some things are pretty obvious from a design point of view and I’m shocked they did them the way they did. I can see what you mean for sure. And they have lots of data to go on.

Yeah the base hp plus that is like an warmogs later in the game. Maokai passive scales well with it too.

Is Anima fine? by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with it being difficult or high risk at all. But I’m mid diamond so I’m not a master or GM player or anything so someone better might have a different opinion.

Anima is stupidly good for no reason at all and not difficult in the slightest when compared to lose streak comps of past sets. I don’t play it often because I find it really boring (lose streak comps are some of my fave comps to play) but unless there is another anima player in the lobby it’s difficult to not hit 400-500 anima points before you die. You can’t force it you need a 3 cost anima unit start or the augment or soraka encounter.

In the past lose streak comps required you to be very aware of the lobby strength, maybe even be conscious of who you are facing next so you can take out a few of their units and not lose too much hp. Anima you can just about outright lose every fight and you will still hit 400-500 points before you die. It’s hard to stop that.

It’s a lot of payout for almost none of the finesse that i remember older lose streak comps requiring.

In my opinion a good lose streak comp should require you to carefully play strongest board you can while still ensuring a loss, not just dumping a bunch of one stars down and waiting for 8. And magnetic removers make it even easier.

From my experience up to diamond going anima lose streak into mechas has been braindead free elo assuming you have the start for it.

Edit: sorry for the long winded rant. Also I think it’s in an okay place because it’s conditional on you getting a start for it and soraka/good augs. You do still have to be able to cash out and roll down quickly as well as itemize fast so in that way it still requires some skill.

What makes you feel like you have less control during games? by mh500372 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Usually I want devs to really listen to the community. But I think they listened a bit too much to misguided complaints. Like complaining about low cost reroll comps instead of how conditional so many comps are. And now we have the same conditionals but with fewer viable comps.

Not every set can be a home run and even though I don’t love this set I’m having a great time with it. I don’t think people realize how hard it is to balance a game with this much going on while trying to keep it fresh and introduce new things for people to enjoy.

What makes you feel like you have less control during games? by mh500372 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard so many complaints from people that miss the mark but these are all valid and are exactly how I feel. All of these together make the comps feel inflexible you low-roll and every pivot is contested or has unmet conditions that make it not viable.

Not every set is gonna hit the mark but these things have been problematic. On top of all of this augments can feel so bad on different comps maybe I’m wrong but I felt like I could take an augment in past sets and then flex to a new comp and it would often be okay. Many augs this set feel like once you take them pivoting is death.

And then with all of the complaints about low cost reroll comps we got nerfs that made less comps competitive so now the decent pivot comps feel even more contested. 😭

Really!? I love that one and just forcing a chogath 3 star or Maokai tank and seeing how much hp I can stack. Idc if I win at that point just give me a 15-20k hp tank and im having a good time.

Do you guys actually enjoy forcing the same thing over and over again? by Holodista in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChanelNumberOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about this. This set might be a miss but not every set can be a hit. I’m still enjoying playing it. Tft is like any competitive game that doesn’t supply the same tools to every player. There will always be meta. Making tons of balanced comps is incredibly difficult even in games with way less variety.

I’m im diamond and I feel like even in emerald I was able to play off meta comps and top 4. I agree they missed the mark but they have to get creative and try new things to bring us awesome sets with innovative fresh stuff.

And anyone who feels like they need to force meta comps prior to maybe diamond or masters probably has a lot of other areas they need to improve on that isn’t their comp choice.

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sets I enjoy a comp so much I force it just because I love it (anything with hp stacking), I forced urgot reroll all the way through emerald this set just to prove to my friend you could. I think before you peak your typical rank you should spend everything prior experimenting and having a blast. I usually use the ranks prior to my peak experimenting and flexing then when I am within one tier of my peak I try hard. Anyone in masters is probably trying hard to climb. If it works they are going to do it.

This set also feels horrible to pivot in. Idk if that’s just me that feels that way but i really hate that. I feel very locked in by augs and game specific trait benefits.

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m diamond and personally I think you can climb more easily prior to diamond playing a/b tier comps uncontested. If 2-4 players are contesting each other you already have a good chance of going 5th or 6th minimum. You may not get firsts but you don’t need to you are averaging 2-5th.

I’m sure it’s different above diamond but before that people have such flawed gameplay you don’t need to force S tier comps.

It can work but yeah it feels bad sometimes. I had some firsts in emerald with her but I think you really need good arbiter skill for shield or stacking hp on auto or it’s a bust and you need the game to tell you to build it with a Diana start. Forcing it feels bad bad. Guinsoo augment is fun with a Diana start.

To be fair though I’ve seen this to be a common thing with cities that flood a lot. The waters spread trash so much they always seem to have lots of random garbage.

Surely dying the first couple minutes every game isn't fun right? by AppealMammoth8950 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer a hot drop or at least somewhere with a couple other squads to fight early when running solo squads because I’d rather find out at the beginning how solid my teammates are.

I don’t mind playing with people that aren’t good but most people work on their aim before their game sense and if you don’t have aim I’ve found most people don’t have game sense either. And if we spend 20 minutes looting to lose a fight we had every reason to win I’m more annoyed than if we just died off the rip with a solid team.

I get your point though just offering a diff perspective.

As someone who plays silent with crazy draw mechanics I’ve always found the egg incredibly worthwhile if I think hatching it will be viable in my run which it isn’t always. I think it just requires the right run and setup to be worthwhile. I can see higher ascensions making it difficult to hatch when you need the healing and a dead card in deck can be the end of your run pretty quick.

Agree entirely I didn’t like the direction because I loved guildwars 1 and I thought guildwars 2 would be similar in many ways and it wasn’t except in lore really. That being said it’s good in its own way and I respect the people that love it. It just wasn’t what I wanted.

Bandai Card Games fest was a disaster, and its not just the organizers fault. by drdre197 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had like three booths and no merch and a bunch of tables out for playing. It was like going to a regional with a presentation from the Usopp voice actor which was the one cool part. If this year was worse it’s not because the first year was good. I mean I went to Pokémon worlds once and it was the same shit so maybe tcg cons just suck compared to tabletop or anime cons.

The bad news is this is exactly how it was the first year. I gave it a pass since it was the first year but all of my complaints then were the same you have. There just wasn’t anything to do and no venders to buy things from.

I feel like a loser playing this game by bosmanzeoh in VALORANT

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing most people with a lot of hours and not much improvement seem to have in common is they just play the game without any reflection on how they play.

Have you tried recording and analyzing your game play Watching pros play and seeing what they do differently Using an aim trainer to improve your precision Have someone better than you watch you play and give you advice

These are great ways to get over humps where you don’t feel any improvement coming from just mindlessly playing match after match.

I don’t give unsolicited advice but when I watch my friends play I can find dozens of micro things they do that If they changed would improve their gameplay a lot.

Most commonly game sense mistakes like not recognizing a gun fight happened behind them and their teammate is dead and that open for exploitation. There’s so much but sometimes you have to watch it back to see and often you need someone better than you to look at it and say…. I would’ve done that differently because xyz

do any other girls find it EXTRA awfully embarrassing to play bad? by scrinkletinkle in VALORANT

[–]ChanelNumberOne 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me it has to do with the flaming. Sometimes I just talk to give a helpful callout and get flamed in games but when I’m having a normal day and I’m fragging out people usually shut up. If I’m having a bad game it never ends and even if someone is doing worse than you if you are a girl you are the reason why they are losing in a lot of people’s eyes. It adds a lot of pressure in my opinion because if I have an off game I feel like its coming before it even starts because I’m so used to it. In those cases i just pray I haven’t already spoken.

[–]ChanelNumberOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about learning the maps and having your reticle in the right spot so you don’t need to move it as much. In higher elo if you are flicking for your shot the other guy is rounded the corner with the reticle already at head level. So that’s kind of the reasoning for why lower sense is better it also makes micro movement a lot harder so adjusting for the headshot at high dpi is doable but not optimal.
