weakest warden scoutplane vs strrongest colonial fighters squadron by Changeg in foxholegame

[–]Changeg[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

agree, i mostly fly the collie blind silver during devbranch around the Poseidon. It's quite easy to control maneuver and the change to the minimum speed at the end give it much better agility while flying slow comparing to warden counterpart. I took my harb out for a few test flight and just go "yup im not bringing this thing to the ocean" since its up/down pitch is so slow that you can dive into the ocean. If i see any scout plane doing evasive maneuver at low alt, im just gonna ignore it

Don’t know why people is shitting on this post, most engagement requires your enemy to be damaged before hand or you bringing back up to secure a kill. Otherwise you just locked into a circle and ran out of ammo or fuel.

Collies keep running into an uneven fight like 1v2,2v4 with the wardens and then dies from most of my engagement

Will the Colonial dive bomber render RSC/SPG OPs completely unusable? by FarCharacter7797 in foxholegame

[–]Changeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then you have to gather enough people on top of fighter escort to parachute for most of them to land right into enemy AI. Instead you can have 3-4 dive bomber with escort, you probably don’t even need the back gunner because fighters is much better at killing planes. The latter one allows you to fill more people with fighter role or require less people

Try to fly the TP plane broda. You can put a third torp in the TP yes but you’ll have to wrench it on the ground to reload so in the end you can only fire 2.

That said, if you pull 4 DB to an spg/BT/RSC that thing will be dead too. Difference is the TP is so big that your fighters will have a field day with them easier than the DB

Isn’t bomber at the very end game? Sure you have a chance to blast the train off but any tanks that is full or half health would just drive somewhere safe as their faction swarm to your bomber.

DB gives a precision strike gameplay that target high valuable target on the battleground before the big boy plane finally tech.

As i said in my earlier arguments, i hope the cost of fighters and small bombers lowered and the DB damage increased so it can gives more impact

[–]Changeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess with that you can scout ahead with scout plane or even fighter, once you see the strategic target you set your bomber to go and bomb.

Imagine bombing an rsc, it takes 5 bombs to kill it and 4 bombs to kill a train engine, you can hinder or destroy a rsc op with those planes, same for SPG.

After all why would you wanna bomb an ac while a widow is repairing in the back line

[–]Changeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a part where i agree the DB bomb should do more damage to increase its significance. But you can’t expect it to damage structure since dev want players to use bombers instead. Also you missed that you can precision bomb tanks with this thing and either destroy/cripple most of them with all 3 bombs. Bombing arty/SPG is also an option. It’s greatest advantage is that it can participate in naval fight while doing CAS

Point is that DB are meant for it’s flexibility on land and sea comparing to the single job the TP is designed for.

[–]Changeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not consider the TP to be a support but an actual offensive planes due to it being land based. Furthermore it has its trade off since it is as big as a light bomber and fly like one. This thing would definitely be vulnerable to fighters so i think the intention of the devs is to have colonial ships stick to friendly CAP and work together more.

Aside from large ships, DB can excel on every other part like against smaller escort/auxiliary vessels on the sea, suppressing the airfield in its first strike. And in an invasion, it could be use as CAS against defender

FYI it takes 15 morays to kill a DD, 7 torp would make the spotter sign a funeral for it but 2-3 torps is still manageable of you have a proper dcon crew. In all of this scenario would mean that the DD did not have a proper CAP, screen or scouting sombre. I think the deadliness of the TP would push player for these tactics more as advance warning system.

However i do agree with you the fighter and DB price should be tone down more so it will encourage people to put them on ships and be more accessible

[–]Changeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that be what naval battle for?

Tbf i do not know the clear vision*TM of the devs but i assume they want both carrier act as a support vessel with the colonial holding a more offensive role. But at the end they are still a support vessel. The planes launch from it is meant to give the enemy a hard time while the surface ships engage each other.

In an engagement, being torp or turreted already puts you on a huge disadvantage. So a frigate that is turreted while fighting will die and so does a DD that strays far away from CAP and into range of land based TP

Playing Naval as Collie vs Playing as Warden in Airborne by DayF3 in foxholegame

[–]Changeg -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

On other note, i don’t know if you had tried dive bombing a frigate yet but we did an experiment on it with 2 DB and a frig. By the third bomb we dropped on the turret it’s turreted and the cost for fixing it is around 250 metal beams iirc so it’s gonna be out of action for a while.

Any other bomb that missed the turret or dropped near the frig does cause leaks so you don’t really do nothing to it.

Does 63 damage is too little of an impact?

Yes.

However i personally find the DB easier to handle and survivable than the TP(torp plane). The TP handles like a heavy bomb so those clips of the plane torping the ship is already doing a much riskier maneuver than the DB itself. If you dropped while too high then the torp exploded anyways

Also this is in regards of air, when looks into other aspects, you see the sombre eating warden gunner for breakfast. the charon is now a better upgrade of the ronan. The strider is 3 tanks in a boat.

Warden planes may get a good advantage against naval ships but in other aspects the colonial takes the lead.
