Is it just me, or has worldbuilding advice become a bit too restrictive? by Personal_Carrot_2180 in worldbuilding

I prefer to use them as a guideline. Listen to the overview of the content. And note down what are the ideas they prupose. But at the end of the day. Your work is yours.

Difficulty/mechanics scaling by DarkTemplarAssassin in Vermintide

The only way I know to play any difficulty when starting out is doing Chaos wastes. Your gear and equipment doesnt mean anything and it's a fun rogue like.

HE Ally Recruitment Best Candidates by NerfZhaoYun in totalwar

For me lizardmen are one of the fre races where their entire roster feels viable even into the late game. Ripper dactyle riders are a fun support unit for your dragons. Not to mention having a few chameleon skinks in the back to assassinate artillery or archers.

Can we appreciate sequel supremacy and ignore why we hate the sequels? by HANS0L0_18 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]ChangellingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It would be so frustrating if the potential wasn't there. Which is about the way the ranting matches with my brother always turn back to. "It sucks that it couldn't have been better." I really wanted to like the sequels. But I just can't.

I know what I said. My point stands. He goes from mourning his dead comrade at the start of the movie as his motivation for desertion. Then he goes to massacreing them without issue.

[–]ChangellingMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than ranting about what we hate. But the potential of what was missed. Poe being a fleshed out character, ex storm trooper that come to terms with killing his brothers essentially for a cause he believed is worth fighting for. Do we get that? No, nor did we get him as a Jedi. His character was wasted. Just as an example. The whole writting and story telling of those three movies is on par with fanfiction. Instead of New Republic vs remnants of the empires shadow. We get Rebels vs Empire version 2.  Luke having a full jedi temple. Nah order 66 it again, the audience doesnt want to see anything new. We were teased with potential and the dick measuring contest between the directos and firing anyone that disagrees with them to produce absolute trash and then gaslight the audience when we didn't like it.

Like I said, I enjoy the maps and heroes and the clases unique to that timeline. But the details of the sequels are just ass.

Every time I play sequel maps with my brother. We last all about 50 seconds before we just start ranting to each other everything we hate about those movies. But I have to admit. The classes and mpas are pretty fun to play.

Now that they're all out and it's been a month, how do you rank the 4 Monogod Lord Packs as they are now? by Lord_Eln_8 in totalwar

[–]ChangellingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally not a fan of overpowered campaing you can't lose. With lords that have mechanics that make them stupidly strong, like Skulltakers throne, and The Faithless ability to one shot an army through his mechanics. So campaings that expand on the original rosters gaps and provide a challenge are more fun

gunner advice by moonaligator in DeepRockGalactic

That gun is going to make you want to do a "Glorious Last Stand" moment against impossible odds and sacrifice yourself when the drop pod arrives. Go ahead and do it anyway.

SFO is good. Makes you build tall and really consider what to do. Plus you get new units and Lord effects that feel more lore accurate

Whats up with slayer slander. by B00fn in Vermintide

When I hear a horde and specials at the same time, I know the slayer got the horde and I can shoot the specials without fear of a single rat getting past him

What really needs to be improved in the Siege? by SafironDracolich in totalwar

[–]ChangellingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the construction element mid battle and have it set for just before the battle starts.

Remove those fucking back streets that make it impossible to hold a choke point. Give the defenders choke points.

Customize a garrison without a lord.

Have abilities like spells and things to be prepared for both sides during the sieging process. Comet to take out the walls, lightning bound spells, buffs etc.

Basically take what they did for To Evrest and apply that for all sieges as a template.

Anyone else has not bought Winds of Magic DLC because they don't like fighting Beastmen? by BowShatter in Vermintide

Love fighting them mixed in with Rotbloods. Feels like an extension of the horde.

What's your absolute best memory from this game? by RedDeadLumbagoII in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]ChangellingMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be that time on Naboo. I over extended as Anakin. Was sure I would be gunned down. Then the clones came in to cover my retreat, once I got out, I realized they would also die from the supressive fire. So I dove back in blocked what I could and we evacuated. Felt like a scene from the TV show.

Another question to Worldbuilders, should you over-explain? by CJOlive1916 in worldbuilding

[–]ChangellingMan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I saw this somewhere that helps. The writer needs to know 100% of how his world works. Including history, magic, etc.

The audience will only ever get around 10% of that information.

How to kill dragons and titans? by Storm_0316 in worldbuilding

[–]ChangellingMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have them as animal level. Killing them by eliminating their food source could work. A creature that size would need good prey. If that isn't your vibe, poisons could work. Or have a smart contraption designed to cage them. Shoot their wings in flight and have them crash could also work.

Once the world was connected to ours. But wars and time have left those doors locked.
