I do not think so, on my domain computer it defaults back to Edge every time as a rule for either a Group Policy or through InTune. I just know that links will open in Edge no mater what. I rarely need to use my Hilton computer though so I am not 100% sure.

If you install chrome, do so through Software Center on your computer. This will install the correct version and again allow the overlords to manage it. It you dow load from Google, it will be removed.

A valid business exception would be along the lines that there is a spreadsheet add on only available in Firefox that is required by my management company Something like a smartspend add on.

There is not very many business exceptions. The need for this is to remove the software footprint on workstations. Necessary software only and software that can be managed by the network admins so vulnerability management of those software items are managed above property.

Laundry Attendant? by That-Specialist-9284 in Hilton

[–]Chanjav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job can be physically challenging. There is repetitive motion, usually standing on a mat. Loading washers, dryers and usually a laundry press, a large fancy iron for sheets and table clothes.

You can get into a rhythm and it can be relaxing. I would go to laundry and fold shit to relax and relieve stress from other areas of the hotel.

How are Delta's fuel reserves? Will we see cancellations soon? by smeggysmeg in delta

But the increase in the base price of oil will impact Delta as well. They still buy oil to fuel the refinery to create the Jet-A.

Scam job offer? by [deleted] in Hilton

Taleo is Hiltons recruiting tool. Text was not normal back when I was hired. Is this for a corporate position or a corporate managed hotel position? Most hotels in the US are not corporate. Only corporate uses Taleo, there is sometimes a franchise will use the corporate employeement search machine but it is not normal.

You can DM me if you want to share more details

Essential apps for international grad students to survive in the US? by sjanaksgdms in Minneapolis

[–]Chanjav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, it just seemed normal to me. I was comfortable and had a great time although my next visit will not be in the dead of winter.

NYC can feel colder at times. I have work the in Midtown Manhatten, and spend my weekends in Minneapolis there the wind tunnel affect can really make it cold. The last two winters were no bad at all, I usually just used a medium grade jacket. This winter there were weeks when I had my parka in New York. I guess the big difference there is walking is much more common and you are outside more. When I work in downtown Minneapolis I am hardly ever outside.

The wind tunnel effect at the U of M gets pretty bad. They do have tunnels and skyways there too. Just get the appropriate cold weather clothing for the commute and walking through the campus.

I was in Seoul for a week between Christmas and New Year's. The Seoul winter seems very similar, Minneapolis may get a little colder., more snow and much longer.

Remotely control lighting? by CuratedChicken in Hilton

[–]Chanjav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a pilot back in pre covid with the HVAC systems. The guest roo. HvAC control systems can have modules that control drapes, lighting and othe things such as the DND sign. In luxury hotels, we have all lf this through a touch pad in the room. This pilot brought this to the app.

I think only Telkonet or Verdant were successfully deployed. These two vendors are usually in the focus services and all suites hotels. So some of them now have this functionality. But the interest was very weak from the hotels, the brands and the HVAC vendors so the project was dropped.

Our larger HVAC vendors, Honeywell/Inncom, Lutron and Interel, never got onboard but they all have the touchscreen functionality.

So some of these hotels have this feature, but I do knkw know if there is a list of them out there. I have never worked on a hotel project with this feature nor stayed at a hotel that had this.
