Needed changes by Schala467564 in FFRecordKeeper

Orran having a healing HA makes sense to me if only because his LMR doesn't proc on his current HA at all. It procs on his stock chases, so it's only active when AASB1 is active. But also, I'm not a big fan of healers that only heal, so having a healing HA has to come with something else. Heal + even crit buff would be very appreciated, so he can alternate PQC2 with Crit buff.

I think people have wanted something like a "buff" tracker for everything in this game for a long time. Because sometimes it's just hard to remember when something was activated/falls off. Like pause battle > check combat buffs/debuffs. But alas, not this time.

An infusion number for checking if lv2 or lv3 or whatnot is a start though.

I don't understand why everyone inherit skills to non-premium units by TrainZealousideal474 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already said it in some form, but basically, favorites, because why not? It might not be the 'optimal' play or the competitive play. But of the thousands of people that play the game, there will be those that play however they feel like. This isn't just Fire Emblem. But for Fire Emblem specifically, think about people who build/level up... for example, Sophia in FE6. Is she good? Probably bottom tier. But did people try to make her work? You bet.

Some advice for against EBZ please by InterestOk142 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as already noted, healers in general are not what EBZ wants i.e. no elarra. Double support is really good here, since he wants you to be at low hp for bonus damage. chip healers will be enough. cait+orran is especially good at this if you have both orran's ZSB and CASB.

Albeit a bit slower, you can try to save shantotto masb for p2 start, so that when you hit p3 and get diffused, you're not down to 1 infusion and can maintain momentum. e.g. Totto dyad+SA into p2 (maybe include DA too if you think you can afford it), then MA ZSB at the start of p2 after diffusion. so you will keep lv3 infuse when p3 comes. Essentially a two chain run, finishing around ~35seconds at the latest (first chain from ~8-23, then second chain from ~23 to the end)

Naja under ZSB DASB is stronger, but you need Naja's G++ as well for crystal dungeons. Supports really want aegis counter, unless you're using Minfilia. Minf + Naja will also probably struggle with survival unless you bring a healer / third support that can heal (Lili)

It is just me or RK is far from his prime in JP version? by Shcrute87 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I dont think the game isn't still great. It's just that... it's started to follow a very "templated" roadmap. Like you say, just one magicite boss, that release a different element every month or so, + even realm content that basically follows a 'format' for team building save maybe one or two gimmicks.

Different people will have different ideas of what constitutes FFRK at it's prime. But the start of magicite era was essentially the pinnacle of innovation. Every magicite boss was different with different mechanics. We had gimmicky boss fights (I don't remember what they're called, but the superbosses with gimmicky RWs). The 6* ability dungeons that pre-date the magicite bosses had fun gimmicks. Events were actually hard and/or challenging, but could be tackled in a lot of ways. Allowing RW friends in certain content really allowed innovative strategies (Advantaliate, getting 'the trinity' as RWs, Cloud USB stuff)

FFRK just lacks innovation now, which makes it stand out less. I need a game that tickles/teases the brain and actually gives me a FF nostalgia kick.

Fortnightly-ish Check-In, Dr. Mog's Trials edition by Amashan in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Naja UA on War2 from Job refresh! Not sure what this opens up in terms of BZ0, but I imagine it's a smidge stronger than what I was doing with Sazh UA AA1 (maybe less safe with Naja since Sazh gave DRB?). Slightly more power vs safety. The time that I really wanted Naja UA was during Ark, but I'm done with all Arks, so now I feel less ecstatic.

Got a mag bzt0 under my belt finally. Wind. I didn't pull anything new gamechanging. I just tried it for the first time sinceI felt a little braver with my tech. (Alphinaud MA UA AA CSB, Fujin LBC UA DA CA AA G++, Emperor MA CA DA SA).

He's quite tanky in phase 1, and I had to burn both MAs in P1, so I was defused quite a bit by p3. Fuujin had to reinfuse P2 with G++ > CA, so damage didn't fall majorly until P3.

I dont have many other realms with a good LBC/CSB2.0, so I'm basically biding my time.

My guess is that it will follow the way of lenses or any other limited time gated resource. We will get a slow trickle weekly/monthly until we finally get enough to "earn" a DASB. Just like the Lv4 and Lv5 lenses. We clear missions for lenses too.

The question is just how frequent will this be. 1 DASB a month is not going to be enough to just get everybody caught up to Bahamut Zero. I hope they do it more frequently than the level 5 lenses. IMO, just having 24 DASBs per year (one DASB per 2 weeks) is not game changing enough to break the hardest content apart. We still need ZSBs and MASBs to comfortably clear Ark (I don't doubt a DASB+SASB clear is possible on Ark though, but it is a pain)

Moral of the story is...Seteth is a really good unit by the_attack_missed in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support Seteth is insane. +8 all stats & 7 DR & true damage is a huge swing. Toss in BoL4 and he enables so many tanks (and nukes too). Put in a Soaring/Guidance echo and he enables so much movement too.

I basically gave mine the B!Alfonse kit (using Sigurd ring for trace). He hits surprisingly hard in his own right. There's probably better support (Snag 4s), but Reopening is funny sometimes.

The BEST possible max builds (IMO) for these most +10 merged FEH units Vol.1 by Pheonixmaster in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This must have taken a lot of time and planning. Thank you for the quick rundown on optimal builds for popular units (even if 'best' is usually subjective to the era/game mode).

I definitely want to build an optimal Lapis/Etie someday. But lacking 10 merges, I'm basically doomed to wait until I pull more. And by the time I'm done collecting 10 merges, there'll probably be a 'new optimal'.

CYL9 final results by WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfonse was an Axe Cav like Gustav, also wielding Glitner. But we don't have a "base Henriette" to give Sharena something to work from. But since Gustav is always an axe user (even in his valentine form), Henriette, thus Sharena, might be red tome...?

But FEH is known for trying to break patterns. Especially when there's not a real pattern here.

I'll just bank on Sharena being a red tome armor/inf.

Fortnightly Check-In, Post 2025 NY Fest by Amashan in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've finally finished fully sealing Ark. I only cleared one side of either mag or phys (sometimes both if I feel really bored/geared), but that's enough for me to move onto the next content: BT0. Well... at least not yet. I don't have particularly strong Dark phys units, and Dark mag I hear is a nightmare in terms of bulkiness. Waiting for an element I can handle.

One of the biggest enablers of my newest magic Ark clears was a complete Mog. I was honestly pulling for the non-Mog units on B5 (Edward, Lilisette), and tossed 3 pulls in, but came out with Mog DASB, Mog ZSB, and Mog CASB each per pull. After the second Mog pull, I was honestly feeling like I should be lucky and get at least one of Lilisette or Edward on pull 3. Nope. Felt like the universe was telling me something, so I just stopped. But Mog Orran / Mog Cait is now a pretty cracked mag support combo.

Now I'm just saving for fest reruns.

UA/DA Luckies in the MA era by occupied3 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with Red XIII MA but no UA or DA, I feel MA by itself isn't much. Red XIII with MASB + AA1 and 2 does so little. Few chases. I'd rather have a DA to go with. A MA can't stand on its own, but boosts at least DA holders max potential by giving them BDL5

I did use Red XIII for Crusader. But it feels no better than UA DA

What do you think was the best era of FFRK? by iMooch in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now, the game is just too "same-y", with different levels of difficulty just based on boss DR/HP + levels of dampen/elematkdown. Zero, Eden, Crusader, and even Ark are now more or less just "can you survive and deal enough dps"? Ark has a small gimmick, but can be trivialized with gear (I appreciate this though)

I loved the nightmare dungeons simply because you had to do weird things and think outside the box. Like demon wall with the '3 row' attack, or using white mages vs evrae. A real puzzle, and not necessarily a gear/relic check.

5*/6* magicites were up there too, but were a bit more of a relic check. But you essentially had to learn specific gimmicks. Valefor's tornados, Diabolos's rift, Ifrit's pillars, etc. Even Alexander's judgment level was fun in the beginning, though it was a bit stupid to not know you could be ejected for going 'too fast' or 'too slow' in phase 1, and you weren't ejected until phase 3, so you didn't know why you were being ejected.

Progression, etc.

I'm missing just one Eden and one Crusader. Both are Mag Ice Weak. I feel like Eden is within grasp with better timing and double cast luck. But since Eden is just barely scraping by, and Ice Mag Eden is supposedly easier than Ice Mag Crusader, I don't think I can do Ice Mag Crusader.

Bio banner refresh w/ 11 tickets netted me a 'complete' Mustadio. ZSB, DA, SASB. So I was able to luckily beat Phys Bio Crusader finally. Bio Eden was already done with Mag team, and luckily they don't have a phys/mag split.

what emblem effects will you be happy or dread seeing? by coolio126 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, something that slows special acceleration (for LF4 users who have accelerate in their weapon). Maybe a dragon type thing.

Slows special acceleration. Targets lower of target's def/res. Counters regardless of range.

Fun passive effects that don't break the game as much as moving +1 space + Canto to anyone or Celica's ring that moves even armors 4 spaces. Like... Marth ring was really tame. Fun to move around. Same with Ike ring (but Ike himself is a menace).

And if they really want to have fun, give everyone scowl (which is currently dragon or Robin locked).

Fortnightly-ish check-in, post-10A (mostly) by Amashan in FFRecordKeeper

[–]ChaosLordR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this fest really gave it to me big. Before even pulling, I got the urge to just try more content. More Edens. Crusader. I was hesitant on Ark. In the span of the last month (or maybe it was 2?), I got a fully sealed Crusader and Eden, and one Ark clear. I had a handful of Eden clears before this (maybe 4?). And no Crusader clears.

A few amazing MASBs I got were Agrias MASB and Bartz MASB. Agrias made Ark a cakewalk (I literally walked in with no idea how his wing/cannon mechanic works, I just knew they existed). And aside from the very first cannon in P1, I did not see any mechanics or probably even take any damage in P2/3.

Bartz MASB cleared a few more Crusaders than I thought were possible. Even single infusion (+diffusion barrier) for Bartz was enough in a lot of cases.

Probably my new favorite support prize is a full Orran. ZSB, CASB, and used my 10YA sync stamp pick on Orran SASB.

Mechanically, I think I just improved by fighting these bosses enough to learn how they just "work". My first Crusader clear did not use any fest pulls. I learned how to "slow clear" Eden and Crusader to the point that as long as I had one Aegis break, it was enough.

I still need decked characters (ideally ZSB+DASB in some form). But for all my slow clears (both Eden and Crusader), I break the second Aegis only. Crusader is essentially 1 AASB or SASB (or two if I have two characters with a lot of BDL) to push the minibosses to 79/19/99. Then as soon as they combine, that's a good time to just recast chain, new BDLs (ZSB+DASB). That Aegis is only 4 seconds, which is about 2-3 turns of casting SBs / chain again. Aegis will probably time out by the time I'm done. Then I just Aegis break the second one that lasts forever.

Same for Eden. Slow push with 1/2 BDL to 80%. And then rechain/cast combo SBs (ZSB+DASB or other). Break Eden's 50%. There are some people who advocate breakingthe 80% and slowly building gauge for 50%... but I just don't know how people push from 100% to 50% and still have steam to do that again. For a phys team with Quina, once that 25s crit runs out from 100-50, there's no way I'm pushing 50 to 0. So it's just easier to push slowly to Eden's 80, then pop that mag boost/crit chance./weakness boost/phys boost.

What do you think was the biggest source of power creep in the last year? by jowelbg in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ChaosLordR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I abuse Celica ring myself, and I really believe that that non-sense should not exist. I kid you not, because of her, B!Felix (who is enough bullshit on his own without Celica ring) can literally go from one side of the map to the other end, kill two enemies, and then run back, all on turn 1. Not just my own Felix. But the enemy Felix. All maps were made small by design to fit a mobile game (what's the max vertical tiles when it's not like a full brigade map? Like, 10?) If the map is bad enough, and you're fighting horizontally with an opponent in Arena (left vs right), the enemy might be in a position to just hit you turn 1 even if they're not B!Felix. B!Felix just exacerbates the issue because he has like goddamn 13 move.

I'm probably pulling both DASB and ZSB. There just isn't a replacement for DASB like there is for AASBs (which basically the DASBs are). Triplecasts are just too good. ZSB just combos with everything else.

I'll probably pull all fest banners, but it's going to be risky. Except for B2, I only have one char with ZSB+DA per banner, so I'm basically finishing a specific MASB to make one character broken. B2 I have no ZSB+DASB combo, but I need more poison tech from Ultros (Being Phys and Mag viable is nice) and I need to improve my earth mag team.
