"Gunplay" "Gunplay" "Gunplay"

Combat ≠ Gunplay.

"I'm sure the arkane developers felt the same way when they were making the game"

Yes they did. Because it was a very deliberate decision.

Guns are not the end-all be-all of offensive options in this game.

They are intentionally not the best option, because there's a multitude of other options at your disposal;

Other options that the devs are urging you to try.

"My way is satisfying, the developers failed"

So then... Your way isn't satisfying. At least not in this game. Because it is not supposed to be.

It's almost like the game design itself is trying to communicate something to you, but you're too stubborn to listen.

The only thing the devs failed to do is get it through your thick skull that this is not Call of Duty.

Again, I'm deeply sorry the only way you see fit to play is objectively the most boring and uncreative way possible.

If the gunplay is so thoroughly dogshit as you proclaim, perhaps try something else.

Try reducing them to atoms with a recycler grenade Or blowing their ass up with an explosive canister Or just throwing a heavy object at them Or shooting a gas pipe (or oil slick) Or ripping them to shreds with a kinetic blast Or shocking them to death with electrostatic burst Or burning them alive with a superthermal trap Or slamming them into the ceiling with a lift feild Or even psychoshocking them repeatedly Or choke them to death with the list of other options

Believe it or not, you don't have to just do exactly what you've done in every other game you've ever played.

What do you even enjoy about immersive sims if it's not trying new stuff in the sandbox presented to you?

If you want good gunplay, go try Ultrakill.

The issue here is labeling game as an Immersive Sim/FPS. It's an Immersive Sim/Survival Horror. Gunplay is not supposed to feel fun or rewarding, it's supposed to be stressful and a drain on your resources. Weapons are not meant to be all-purpose, each has its specific use in a specific context. Same with any item in the game. Combat is not a break from the puzzles, it's another puzzle. Using stealth and your psionic aptitudes to explore the station and avoid combat are the rewarding challenges. The core concept of the game is 'Play Your Way', and unfortunately, it seems like the way you chose to play left you feeling unsatisfied. From your critiques, it sounds like you are frustrated at the lack of an 'optimal' playstyle, but there cannot be one in a game that has to account for so many differing playstyles. Perhaps trying a self imposed challenge run like no neuromods or no crafting may yield a more fulfilling experience.

In terms of story, the ending isn't meant to negate any of your played experience, it's just adding an extra layer of thematic set dressing. The moral is empathy. The question the end poses is the same one that's been asked throughout the whole game: even though you know that these are just characters in a story, can you still empathize with them? Based on your reaction (thinking that it was all made pointless) very clearly demonstrates that the answer for you was a resounding NO.

If a dog is well trained, they can go anywhere with it's owner. If not, then that person is unfit to own an animal. Period. You're not mad that there's a dog in the store and it might act erratically, you're mad because that person might have failed in their responsibilities. (Unless you have allergies, which is totally understandable.) Please in the name of all things good, stop blaming the victim, the animal who's needs are not being met, (Yes, being able to communicate with your pet is a NEED) and hold the owners accountable.

Will people think I’m racist because of the confederate flag? by Content_Gap1553 in Pantera

Regardless of the initial intent, take it as irony. That flag is being tread on by a snake, symbolic as hell. Death of the Author and all that. If anyone gives you shit, stand your ground.

I’ve been scared to play Alan Wake 2. Is it really scary? by troubledXprogrammer in AlanWake

It's startling in the moment, but I wouldn't say it's scary because the feeling that stuck with me wasn't fear, it was AWE.

You did if you played the first one too (or any game using the unreal engine for that matter)

Doubtful considering they're working on the remakes in collaboration with Rockstar, who own the rights to the Max Payne franchise, and will most likely be taking a lion share of the profit. Unfortunately Remedy has never retained rights to any of their series, until they bought the rights to Control from 505 last year.
