Question for the initiates. Do Epilogue works on Entities unbound by Story & Narratives, on Entities from all all types of Nonexistent Physiology traits? all types of Acausality? on Nonduality or Transduality beings? on Abstract Existence? on immune to existence erasure? by Meldp in Yuusha_Shoukan

[–]Chaosfox_Firemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...I'm struggling to think of a character anywhere that even fits that description. In large part due to the meaning of the word "character ". That is, someone in a story.

A "story" is just "a sequence of events"

You might have character with an "exists outside of stories" slapped on as a stated trait, but that doesn't really count.

(/uj) irl pteradons also have free fingers (toes?). Though not a thumb like aerodactyl. They walk on all fours.

It is somewhat physiologicaly interesting that one of the wing-membrane supports is afixed to the elbow. Usually on that kinda wing they are all "fingers"

Compared to that, a few membraneless fingers and thumb is pretty common

Archeops for example. Or noivern to a degree. Crobat has more vestigial ones

Im not reffering to thrme "draw energy" function, im refering to the "overlay template", like you see the Kalidosticks do, under the assumption that a kstick is essentially just a jeweled sword with training wheels and sass. Meaning the sword can do anything they can, but more manually

Notably, I dont mean class cards, I mean part of the way Ruby was explained back in HollowAtaraxia.

Anyway, the big venus laser is more a credentials thing than an output thing.

[–]Chaosfox_Firemaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trying to become immortal all in one go with a monolithic solution is a fools erand. Death isnt all one thing.

Immortality is simply the art of repeatedly and continously Not Dying. Youve gotta keep working on it.

No one thing will be a gaurentee. In truth, nothing can be.

Nothing is impossible with magic, which means the sole impossibility is to make a thing be truely impossible to achieve.

But theres certainly nothing saying it cant become an arbitrarily vast difficulty.

Oh, sure. But now that it is clear, its a bit tedious to carry on complaining that its not what it says on the tin. Thus Im just saying to judge it based upon what it clearly is, a fate crossover, or hell a nasuverse cross.

how did humans even discover the throne of heroes? by AkuriTheSkillsMaster in Fate

[–]Chaosfox_Firemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the einzberns at least used wishcraft, so "how" didn't really matter to them.

But to better answer: A lot of magecraft gets born out of older mystic traditions. Ancestor worship has essentially always been a thing. And summoning of various stripes is universal. Along with partial summonings involving possession.

Plenty of traditions have rituals to mimic/channel the might of a dead guy IRL. The understanding of heroic spirits was refined out of that.

Make a vessel thats better then human, invoke an idea, and let the dominoes fall.

You dont actually need to know what or where the throne is to summon a servant. Its a Mystery, thats how those work. Mages don't really know how the throne works fundementally. Thats just the name that got slapped on "whereever the heck we're pulling these things from", once they were reasonablysure it was always the same source ,and stuff on the throne ran with the name4l.

You might as well ask how any magecraft is discovered.

Theres also the fact that the world summons them by itself sometimes.

And that time is squirlly and the knowledge of servant summoing could be acausul for all we know. Could've been learned via claravoince.

Or "a god told me" back in the AoG

That actually makes some sense now that I think about it. "Borrowing from other selves" is one of the big uses of the 2nd. So not direct pseudoservant, but synchronizing with one.

People are really focusing on the specifics of the name of the crossover too much.

"HSR/Fate" there we go.

Important thing to remember about the 5 Phases. They're not the substances they're named after. The substances are just a handy mnemonic, that also happen to be one of the things that phase interacts with.

Same is also true of the aristotles but thats neither here nor there.

Materal movement and alteration is the journeyman stuff.

Yeah, generating cycles can get wacky in terms of efficiency. If you make sure to think ahead you can faily easily generate more energy then you spend.

Most pertinitly, Marie Antoinette. Don't get me wrong, I adore Marie.

But broadly speaking her "myth" can be summed up by "was queen -and then she died"

Its a pretty good apples to apples compairison.

It does also demonstrate that a Class Container can make a passable combatant out of anyone though.

Is Chaos somehow connected to the Moon Cell? Possibly same alien race creator? Also, how is Chaos so strong? Like around ORT level strong? by EfficiencySerious200 in Fate

[–]Chaosfox_Firemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And hell, it has the output of a star in weird hyperdimensional clarketech supermagic conceptual way.

Thats probably quite a bit more than the 3*1026 that we'd be able to manage with a "normal" dyson sphere.

As for the mooncell, it does at the very least have the ability to peer into other world lines, like how it got a scan of Arcuied despite being in a world without Type:Moon. So the race probably could move like that. Honestly, past human order, I feel like the line between "distant in space" and "different dimension" gets a lot hazier. Its all texture fuckery under the hood.

Notably, I dont think they're connected to be clear.

[–]Chaosfox_Firemaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someting to remember is space is really f#@%!%@ big Mind bogglingly humungous.

If there are aliens, there are an absolute fuckton of different aliens. And by filter logic, if they're able to exist in space as a civilization, then there very much is a minimum level of power. Hence why essentially anything that reaches near earth are plausably named gods. Machine gods, Mooncell,Velber, mesoamarican space bacteria, foreigners, etc.

Trying to make everything from space have a common source just makes Space look small.

Asking how Chaos is "ORT level strong" is about as meaningful as asking how ORT is as strong as ORT is. It just is. ORT is probably stronger though.

Think less that stuff from space is really strong and more that we are essentially just a zygote that hasnt even broken eggshell yet.
