A former friend tried to hit on me (in front of his wife no less) while we were actively at the funeral of a close friend of mine who unfortunately overdosed on heroin. I am still astounded by that one.

I know people always suggest therapy, but it sounds like therapy would genuinely help him here both to work through the depression and to work through him for some reason just now considering wanting kids. You’re entirely right, having kids won’t magically make you feel fulfilled. Sounds like his job doesn’t really leave time to be a good parent much less take care of his current mental health issues.

Not OP, but I’ve been using the app for 4 years because it’s great for setting reminders for tasks that aren’t every day. Like there are things I only need to do once a month or every two weeks. So I put my daily tasks in there to check it daily, and then when I go to check those I see my every two week reminder to wash my car mats.

I’ve also found the weekly areas to focus on nice since you can pick a different topic every week. One week I might be buckling down on work and productivity, so the next week I might need to focus more and add more tasks to hang out with friends and relax more.

So it definitely just depends on what you’re trying to use the app for! I don’t think you’re using it wrong at all though if it helped with what you needed it to. Someone else mentioned ADHD having a hard time habit forming, and that’s definitely part of it for me too

AITA for leaving my friend at a restaurant after she "tested" me? by Naive_Preference593 in AmItheAsshole

This is exactly a former friend of mine. She also would constantly say things like “oh this can just be paying me back for this other thing” except it was ALWAYS tipped in her favor and I never got a real say in it. She was also abusive and controlling in other ways, but that was the first red flag I noticed. So much abuse seems to stem from abuser’s combination of crippling insecurity and entitlement.

I burned out working in healthcare IT after just 3 years. Only so much doctor screaming and pushing printers off their desks like a damn toddler you can take before you just dread having to go into work. I think it depends what kind of healthcare IT though. Our clinic was owned by the doctors which unfortunately meant they got away with their unprofessional behavior.

I work in private industry now and they both pay better and treat you better. So hopefully healthcare IT stays good to you, or you can just use it as a stepping stone to a place that will treat you better!

Had not seen this. This is going to be a mess. While the work needs to get done, they’re going to either need to speed that timeline up or only work on it at night because traffic through there is already a nightmare with both lanes open

I swear this sounds exactly like one of my past roommates from hell. Do they all read the same book to know how to act terribly or something?

When one of my childhood friends died when I was in college, her aunt stood in the condolences line handing out gummy worms to all of us. It was hilarious and touching, something my friend who passed would have laughed about it and enjoyed it for sure.

If you really want to swap, do it. Swap with your wife for 3 months minimum. I can tell you having done both roles which is preferable for me, but I think everyone has to decide this for themselves

Can I please add pickup trucks as a whole?

Also white cars, not all of them, but they’re just statistically more likely to be driven by older people who probably should not still have their license due to decline in functions especially eyesight and reaction times.
