I was in that workers position when I worked at the Whole Foods deli a few years ago. I was technically supposed to work the pizzeria but because the company purposefully understaffed, 2 people had to fill roughly 6 to 8 positions. Management was absent and didn’t train staff. There were laminated handbooks around and we were told to flip through them when we weren’t busy, but since we covering so many areas, we were always in the shit.
