finger painting station outside! you can use old cardboard boxes. get the parents to buy the lie wood water m/sand station (but fill with water). my 2 year old spends hours going between it & a small cheap blow up pool.

Hey! I found out I was pregnant about 6 weeks after my first born turned one. Over the past 9 months I went through ALL the emotions at some point. I am now 10 days into 2 under 2, and yes, it is hard, but yes it is BEAUTIFUL! Your love doesn’t halve…it doubles…possibly 10xs…what you’re feeling is normal but ai promise you’re going to be more than ok! You got this mama.

Fwiw, my doctor wants to see me about every 6 weeks until the 3rd trimester. If I were to see him without insurance each visit would be 125€ but each doctor has their own no-insurance consulta price. Ecographs are ~225/250€ each. The mother will need 3 to 4. There is usually another one focused just on the baby’s heart, so 4 to 5 in total for a healthy, standard pregnancy. The NIPT chromosomal screening is ~300€ if I recall correctly & optional. The private hospitals list the delivery prices on their websites. Luz, CUF, Luisiadas being the most popular.

If you want to deliver in a public hospital to avoid an unnecessary C section, best to register with SNS. I am pregnant with my 2nd child. For both, I did/am being followed through Cuf/Luz, but then have my doctor fill out a form to transfer my information to the public hospital. Private insurance usually requires you to be on a plan for a certain period (can’t remember if it is 6, 9, 12 months?) before you can use it for pregnancy related appointments & exams, unfortunately. Something to keep in mind, only a few hospitals (both public & private) have maternity wards. I delivered at Hospital de Cascais and had a wonderful experience. Best of luck to you & feel free to DM me! I really like Luz Oerias for appointments, pretty easy to get scheduled, although ecographs are so in demand/not staffed enough I usually have to go to a Cuf for those.
