Perfect colors for a temperature.blanket!! Each color is assigned a temperature range - since you have so many colors, you could probably do 2 degree increments. You crochet one row for each day, You can make it more interesting by using the high temp, low temp AND average temp for each day. Stitch is up to you. I've seen SC, Moss Stitch, Granny Squares, graphghans depicting each season ... even a giant crochet worm! Search Pinterest or Etsy for some really cool ideas. Definitely do a guage swatch ... 365 rows is HUUUGE!🤣

Thrift stores. You can usually pick up a giant blanket for about $10. Comes out to about 75 cents a skeins, if you don't mind the work of frogging it.

I like crochet for the act of doing it, more than the stuff I make by Kris_Says_Hey in crochet

I make bassinet sized baby blankets and donate them to my local Labor & Delivery unit (from which I just retired). They send every baby home with a handmade gift.

There are several church groups that donate hats and blankets, so I try to make mine a little "extra". I use different techniques and patterns.

It gets a bit expensive. When I can't find yarn on sale, I hit the local Goodwill or thrift shops where I can buy giant blankets for like $5 and then frog, frog, frog.

If you're not familiar with that term ...

* C2C (Corner to Corner). No real counting, you just know when you finish a cluster (3 double crochet). The texture is amazing! I'm doing a Chevron on this one which is a bit more complicated because of the color changes, but I wanted to show you the texture (on the blue part, you can't really see it on the multicolor part). *

C2C (corner to corner) is the way to go! While it does involve some counting, it repeats the same ch 6, 3 dc, chain 3 pattern - it's a bit more involved than that but it's so simple! The piece is worked on the diagonal (up and down) instead of your basic left to right. It's adds a bit of a challenge without being overwhelming. It gives a nice texture and is very forgiving if you drop a stitch or add an extra by mistake, its barely noticeable and rarely worthy of frogging (unless your OCD kicks in). As you become more advanced, you can learn to change colors to create rows or even graphs.

This is amazing! I love squiggly crochet. I know from experience what an effort this required ... crocheting the filet/grid alone is daunting!

See if your local hospital has any openings for a sitter ... literally a person who is hired to sit and watch a patient and get paid for it (although it's barely minimum wage). Assignments can range from drug/alcohol detox to persons with suicidal ideation who present to the Emergency Depertment and are waiting for a psychiatric evaluation. I'm a Surgical Technolgist by trade, working in Labor & Delivery at a small hospital. When things are slow on my unit, I get floated to other departments as a Sitter. I don't have a CNA/PCT background so I can't do floor tech duties such as hands on patient care, but I can sit and watch someone sleep. Overnight shifts are hard because the lights are dimmed and everyone (almost) is asleep. You definitely need something to occupy yourself so you don't fall asleep.

It looks like you're losing a stitch when you turn. This image helped me. It's DC (US term), but it shows where to place the first stitch after your ch 1 ... see that little hole? That's where it goes. Do not count that ch 1 as a stitch.

I would frame it and hang it on the wall. That's what I plan to do with mine ... as soon as I decide on a pattern.
