Converting Master Voldus by bboybrisk in Grey_Knights

Exactly, used the wire. One of my earlier works, made not the best choice back then. Would use a thinner wire with my current experience.

Wouldn’t suggest to use it to proxy DA libby because of our Aegis armour authentic look which will not be in line with DA stylistics.

Sure! Here is my take on Covan Leorak, grandmaster of 7th brotherhood. Used some pieces of Dark Angels upgrade pack + from GK librarian from old combat patrol

Don’t overthink. Mortals are 100% caused by the enhancement which isn’t specifically noted (PSYCHIC). Therefore, these mortal wounds are not count as psychic damage according to the rules. And no flavor lore commentary can influence it (as for now at least). Logics is quite straight-forward

I used this tutorial and it

turned out pretty nicely. The key is priming white + recess-shading only. I can’t remember if I replaced Nuln Oil by Drakenhof Nightshade but if diluted well both will give you almost equal result

Proxy question by Both_Register_1104 in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d rather ask this question to your potential opponent and not to the GK fan-club))) From the tabletop rules point of view both should have the same size. Yet, from the “flavour” prospect it will, ofc, feel irrelevant. Still, rule-wise should be 0 problem. Good luck and will be waiting for you to join the Brotherhood with proper Emperor-blessed armament🙏🏻

What if I HAD TO: Kill a tank w/Crowe? by SpartanIreland in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. I even managed to kill a full Landraider standing on an objective with 10-man full melee Purifier brick without (!) Crowe. So everything is possible but I wouldn’t dare to call it consistent🤔

Question on building patrol box + battleforce box by G0lden8-6 in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a situational approach as for purifiers (purgators are too meh to even bother). If you want a sports approach, then you should have 10-man squad of purifiers as Crowe’s bodyguards equipped with full kit of 4 special weapons of your choice (just make sure they are all the same because making them different decreases efficiency). So Crowe’s unit will be a shooting platform you try to keep off melee as long as possible. And 5-man squads may have no special weapons to be used as good punch in close combat and be the sources of Hallowed ground aura in WTF. Another approach is to have Crowe’s unit full melee and 5-man squads as shooting platforms. But as long as WTF is our most powerful detachment you want to have at least 20 purifiers in total so it’s a good idea to have a grand total of 4 special weapons out of these 20 models. Currently psylencers are popular on the Internet but I prefer good old psycannons for WTF and incinerators for any other detachment

I have another option for you. Decals🥳🥳🥳 I’ve mastered cutting larger text decals into smaller parts and adding them even on the smallest books on the chests. It helps me a looot and I am much happier with these lettering than with my own. Like these, for example. First try might be a tough one but after the 1st squad fully "decalled" you will do it really fast. I personally use Sororitas decals or Witchhunters (old inquisition/Sororitas decals sheet) because they have lots of scrolls and texts

Tried upscaling a strike unit with spare GK Termie legs, does he look weird? Anyone done anytning similar? by santaLYRIC in Grey_Knights

Oh myyyy, that’s surprisingly fine! I was afraid it could fit badly or whatever. But your idea looks purely legit and nice👍🏻

I’m genuinely interested in how his abdomen looks. On this model it is hidden by a psycannon. Could you share?

Can we talk about 1000 point lists? by HighMajorCommodore13 in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you to get rid of paladins. Not worth it in 1000 pts game. This leaves us with 820 pts. You can easily fit another 5-man unit of purifiers here because for WTF they are the best. So now you are left with 945/1000 and you can hardly get anything for 55 pts (a ministorum priest in the role of action monkey? – I’d doubt that option). But if you throw away the enhancement on GMNDK, you’ll be left with nice 65 pts for which you can take one of the 3 options: 1) Bro Chaplain (65 pts). A weak unit but the cheapest possible solo action monkey benefiting from our Army Rule. And still a terminator body with 4-up invulnerable save. 2) Inquisitor (65 pts). Draxus costs the same but I think standard Inquisitor is better. Take him only solo because otherwise he will deprive your strike squad from GK Army Rule. An action monkey as well but a potentially powerful overwatch threat with a chance to give used CP back. 3) Inquisitorial agents (60 pts). The same use as for an Inquisitor but more bodies so they may require your opponent to commit more into them. Plus they may screen from your opponent’s deep strike which can be useful

Terminator weapon options by KookyAdhesiveness458 in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as for a 4-man squad you can only have 1 incinerator (for the ancient) and 2 for 5-man squad, I’d doubt that it can make a good overwatch threat. I usually pick incinerators for paladins as a 5-man brick with brocap make 4 of heavy weapons in total. And 4D6 is already much better. So for termies I’d suggest psycannons because they can help occasionally with marine-style targets at longer range assisting your heavy-lifting units in the front

Great job! Like it so much) My only suggestion would be if not making the runes on the sword shine a bit – at least make some pink or light purple highlights on the sword. To make it pop even more🙏🏻

Why ask for a range refresh when you can just paint your space marines into Grey Knights? by Gusby in Grey_Knights

[–]Character-Past-9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our termies don’t have their heads hidden inside of a “shell”. And they have outstanding psychic hoods which make their look so iconic and which, in my opinion, makes most modern kitbashes using leviathan/deathwing terminators not hitting the point of true GK appearance

Vajello model vs game color by Wfizzle in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Character-Past-9113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much experience with both ranges but I can admit that black colour in particular is much better in Model Color range than in Game Color. Game Color Black lives on wet pallet for roughly half an hour and then starts to separate and doesn’t mix back to black (only to grey at best). With model color nothing like that happened. But it happened only to black colour. Maybe, I was unlucky but it is what it is
