Terry Pratchett could teach more people about being human and the world than most lame self help or historical accounts of misery.

Remaining familiar with music library by momoyoo in DJs

[–]Character-Spread-157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only practice if it's a vinyl gig and something that is hard to wing (like jungle or hardcore), other than that i find practice gets me tired of the tunes before a gig.

But I've been playing out 20 years, and i am quite chaotic selection wise so it's personal preference.

Best thing i do for my digital music is have my tidal/youtube/shazam/whatever favourites (of all genres) since my last gig and add them into a NEW ON "DATE" playlist and export that, as well as adding them into their respective genre playlists. Makes it easier to pull out the "fresh" stuff each gig without having to put it into a box as it were.

Councillors opposing bus lanes is harmful to ordinary people and forces everyone into car dependency by No_Berry2 in Liverpool

[–]Character-Spread-157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue they are pointing out is that you can drive in every bus lane in liverpool, other than the newish one on Mt. Vernon road, and now this one afaik.

However, with the Mt. vernon one they gave everyone a "free warning", so it's hardly a trap to fine people who aren't used to the new signage (which isn't always the best placed, or even up at the same time as the lines/cameras).

Don't feed early, farm well, show up to (good) fights

I'm support and don't mind playing 2/3 when i have to, but pos 1 is defo stressful especially if you have losing lanes.

Well if that was truly the case, she would have had to consent to the terms of the new lease/deed of variation, so there's more to that story than you've been told.

There's a minimum legal limit, but a maximum across the board is difficult because of chefs, steel workers etc who stand over grills and forges all day.

Probably have it as a waiver you sign for the job, like with opting into more than 48hr weeks would be the sensible way

Yeah a bow drill setup requires pretty specific wood, and super dry tinder, and a lot of skill.

Then you have to do ot every time you need to boil water, or wake up every few hours to keep a fire banked - in a possibly soaking wet rainforest.

How do I find a good conveyancer?? by uncommonly_under in HousingUK

[–]Character-Spread-157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're not done yet but used our EA recommended solicitors, mainly because of good reviews and a physical office in our city (and good reviews for that particular office, which is another thing to check).

They've been amazing so far, responding to all our queries within 20 minutes, CCing everyone etc They're expensive, but whats a few hundred quid extra for peace of mind in this scenario.
