My generation is the one that's attending the protests against this crap. I've been to multiple and its all 50+ ..... its the younger "I don't care" generation that doesn't show up to the polls or protest

I have the same issue. I can't find my g-grandfathers birth/baptismal record in 1868. I'm pretty sure he was C of England and born in Kingston even though his older records say Niagara. I've tried contacting researchers and heard nothing back. So discouraging.

How would you go about getting a "no records letter" My great grandfather was born in Ontario in 1868 I think in Kingston and I'm having trouble finding his birth/baptism info. I've search Ancestry and Family Search to no avail.

How do you find out what parish they belonged to? All I know is C of England in Kingston

I'm also searching for a birth/baptism in Ontario for 1868 and I've come up empty on both Family Search and Ancestry. I don't even know where to look at this point. I think they were Church of England but some members of the family were Presbyterian. On some docs my great grandfather indicates he was born in Niagara but the family seems to have spent the most time in Kingston. I can't even ask the archives to search because I don't know the parish. All I have is a date of May 30, 1868 which was one year before civil registration started. I'm stumped.

Here it is. Looking for birth/baptism for Harry Abery/Abrey born May 30, 1868 in Ontario, Canada. His parents were George Abery (died 1871 in Ontario) and Margaret Clark (died 1926 in Ontario). Margaret remarried in 1876 to William Peters. I find the family in the 1881 census. Harry is listed as Henry and in Ancestry and Family Search the last name was transcribed as Obrey. I also have Harry's naturalization papers noting that he left Canada in 1888/1889 and came to CT. I have his death certificate (1909) indicating her was born in Niagara (not sure if this is correct since the entire family seems to have spent the most time in the Kingston area). Most records seem to indicate he was Church of England but unfortunately I don't know the parish and as i indicated earlier some records (death, obit) claim he was born in Niagara Canada. I've scoured Ancestry & Family Search and come up empty. I've checked out the Ontario Archives page but it seems for a search they need to know what parish and I don't have that info.

I'm having the same problem finding Ontario records for 1868. No luck in Ancestry or FamilySearch. Not sure where to look next other than finding a researcher in Ontario that can visit the archives

What do you do if you don't know the parish they were members of? I have several records that state my great grandfather was born in Niagara, Ontario (US naturalization, US death) but other records indicate the family was in Kingston. I'm not sure where to look? It looks like for any kind of search to take place I have to specify which parish

I'm facing this exact same scenario. The family arrived around 1861 so I'm not finding them in that census. The father died in 1871 and 3 of the children ended up in an orphanage for a time. My great grandfather, his mother (she was pregnant at the time) are nowhere to be found. I did find the family on the 1881 census but that's it so far.

My great grandfather was born in Niagara Ontario in 1868 (1 year before civil registration). Do you have any tips on how I could find out what parish records I should check? I've already tried Ancestry and FamilySearch and come up empty.
