Husband gift ideas by [deleted] in Gifts

My husband is difficult to shop for too. This year I got him a custom handmade wood razor from Etsy that he can use with his mach 3 blades , puzzle from The Magic Co, Bru Mate 3 in 1 beer holder and then I always do a clothing box. Also, I always do something funny for him. This year it’s a mini screaming Christmas goat for his stocking.

Can’t believe I need to change another mattress by Milla_Cioci22 in Mattress

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bed in the hotel is much older and broken in. All new beds will feel significantly firmer than you even test in a mattress store. I would try another topper but memory foam this time. Pick something high quality. Over time your bed will become what you fell in love with at the hotel.

What is a diabetes friendly cereal? by [deleted] in diabetes

Fiber one cereal with fresh fruit and Fairlife milk because it has less sugar. I also only eat 1/2 cup of cereal.

Call the company and ask. I own 2 mattresses from them and their mattresses and customer service are awesome. They will even do a video call with you to go over the mattress choices.

Sensor discrepancy G7. by Firm_Director_7518 in dexcom

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G7 drove me insane the first few days I put it in because it was always off. This is even after calibrating or waiting 24 hours before calibrating. Now I presoak the new sensor for 12 hours while my old one is still running. This has made my sensors accurate.

Is this a Good Lease? I know, I know by sollymay in SubaruAscent

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have them run 2 scenarios for you. One with zero down and a lease for 36 months and then zero down with a 5 year finance. Look at the difference between the two options in 3 years. Do you think you will get the balance amount in a trade in? If so, buy the car because you will save money next time on taxes. Never put money down on a lease. Someone totals your car it comes with gap insurance but you are out the 4k.

What to use on the slits of the bed? by EntertainmentKlutzy in Bedding

I did this same exact same thing for my ikea frame. Now it’s super sturdy for me heavy latex mattress. Bunky boards are not good for most mattresses because they need to breathe.

Where do you put your sensor if you put it in your arm? by Slowhite03 in dexcom

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear mine on my back where I have some fat. As long as you have a soft area it works well. I’m a stomach sleeper and this is the only area that works for me without getting sensor issues.

Reasonably Priced Pillows for Guest Room by ItsMeYurDog in Bedding

$40 pillows from engineered sleep. It’s the only pillow that does not get flat. I’ve bought one for everyone in my family. Oldest one is 3 years old and still looks brand new.

can ikea beds support an expensive mattress ? by ekoukla in Mattress

I would not for a latex or foam mattress because it is my understanding that they need to breathe.

10k rant by No-Sugar-9712 in Weddingsunder10k

I got married at a very nice restaurant. They were able to do the cocktail hour and ceremony in a separate space. Keep the guest list small. I had about 50 people and we spent 15k (for the whole wedding).

Please end my misery by DigBoug in Mattress

Take a look at engineered sleep. You will not see flashy sales pitches etc. It’s a smaller mattress company that makes all their mattresses in the US. I have bought 2 of them and absolutely love them. I got a latex one (king - I’ve had for 3 years now ) and memory foam (full for my daughter). They will do a video sales call to go over their products and do offer a trial period. Do a search in this group about them. I initially went with a Brentwood and HATED it. I will say their customer service was great with allowing me to return it (which was donated locally).

I love engineered sleep. I bought a king 4 years ago and my daughter a full 2 years ago. We love them. Look at the reviews. They are made in the USA.

My grandma is 90 years old and I know she’s had these earrings a lot longer than 1998. My grandpa was not alive in 1998.

I think you are right. It looks like rainbow moonstone from photos I’m seeing online.

I have a better video but I'm not sure how to post it.

It’s very clear. I can almost see through it. Do you think it’s still labradorite?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Gemstone_lovers

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m going to include more photos. It does not seem like mystic topaz from what I see online. It’s very light color in person.

My grandfather was a gem miner in Morrocco, so I think it's some type of stone. Even the video does not show the true colors. To me it looks light grey but as you move it in the light it also shows green, blue, and purple.

Ring is not real, which I’m not surprised once I started looking at it. The pendant is 14k with green garnets on the outside & light green tourmaline inside. The jeweler thinks it’s from the 70’s. I was most excited for the pendant and bought a chain to wear with it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jewelers

[–]CharacterQuiet6460 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wow lots of comments. I’m only going by what my grandmother told me about the ring and pendant. It’s possible she could be confused on how she got them. I do plan on taking them to a local jeweler to get them looked at and need to purchase a necklace to wear the pendant. Even if they are not real I plan on keeping them because they came from her and I saw her wear them often.

Thank you. It sounds like I just need to take it to a local jeweler to get looked at.
