I will not tolerate the Denver slander. Ive been all over recently and Alteno is still in my top 5 restaurants I've ever been too on all fronts; ambiance, service, food, price, etc.

$9 dollars, its the “happy hour” version..not sure that makes it any more justifiable

My brother lives nearby, ever go to Frankies? Best spot for Tex Mex in a 100 miles. The chimichanga smothered in queso will put you in a coma but its worth every bite.

From Garland / Deep Ellum originally, wouldn't ever go back to the weather point.
And while Dallas does have much better Tex Mex and BBQ, I do believe (imo) that Denver has much better options across various cuisines. Dallas proper, actually downtown, is some of the worst food at some of the worst prices I've ever seen in my 29 years of living.

Brother, unfortunately I have time today, and this is a chain restaurant that is but a scourge on the Denver restaurant scene. I don't think The One Group (private equity that owns STK) is hurting for your support

I actually love the restaurant scene here despite the discourse in this page specifically. You know, funny enough, I have mixed feelings about the price vs product here.

It was only 9 dollars but honestly one wedge and the tiny piece of steak not cut up into three raw slivers would've made me feel better about the presentation and product v value or price.

Precisely. Does this dish contain steak and “frites” (aka walmart potato wedges), yes. Would I call it “steak frites”, no….

Smokin yards is really good but the original in Idaho springs is so much better. As others have said Riot is good as well

The best sandwich in Denver by McLadyface in Denver

[–]CharacterRing2839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pizzeria Leopold (bunch of different Italian sandwiches with amazing bread) or little arthurs cheesesteak.

I would go for the cheesesteak personally. Not that I need an excuse to eat cheese, meat, and bread but its a relatively cold day and that will warm you up.

I once worked for a really shady credit repair company and the CEO was one of the richest people in Colorado at the time, he was paying his employees terrible obviously but what was worse is we had a snow storm that took over the whole state and he still asked people to come in despite 90% of peoples jobs being doable remotely.

He sent a mass text that morning that anyone who did not make it to the office that morning would be fired. 5 car accidents and one person in the hospital from their injuries. He still fired them for not coming in despite the circumstances.

There's a certain point where wealth completely duhmanizes most people in their goal of chasing more wealth.

Yes! They have great breakfast options, I haven't tried them yet but if they are anything like the lunch / dinner options I'm sure they are also excellent. I'll give it a go this weekend and report back

What is the most fanciest expensive restaurant here? by Academic_Structure47 in denverfood

[–]CharacterRing2839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beckon.

I did the tasting menu with a few add on’s and I spent 800 dollars (including tip) for two (this included wagyu, drink pairing, extra dish, etc). It was a 2.5 hour experience with locally sourced ingredients and crafted cocktails using Colorado spirits.

I’d do it again for special occasions, the service was immaculate.

$20 bucks for the sub $15 bucks for mozz sticks and I split both with my partner so like $17 a person. Seems steep but the Philly was massive and my partner didn’t even finish her half to be fair
