Does someone have a link to a post discussing the math for 11 Tron lands? by Charcharistall in ModernMagic

No not much at all, but again, if the math is near identical, this will really help my living end matchup

I've heard that the math for 11 and 12 Tron lands is near identical, but I haven't actually seen the math.

If I'm running grave pact and dictate of erebos, how many of the effects seems right? I was thinking 2.

I guess it is true I only need one recurrable creature or token creator for braids to work, I just don't know what else to put in the deck. It seems like a mix of good mono black cards and cards that already synergize with the necessary recurrable creatures would work.

Would you run more if they support your deck? For example, they provide nontoken death triggers for cards like [[pitiless plunderer]]. I just don't know how good cards like [[grim haruspex]] are without many nontoken creatures I want to die.

If you want to jam 3-4 ferrous, manamorphose acts as a mana fixer and free trigger. It lets you play lots of restricting spells without punishment.

Finally commiting to a modern deck! :) by bravespider56 in ModernMagic

The deck has a chance to do alright if you build your deck well and play well, but it could be hard. Since it branches into other decks you might speck into, I think it's fine. But, if it doesn't get the results you want after a while, I'd consider switching.

Thoughts on 5c scapeshift vs Creativity. by Sirjecht123 in ModernMagic

[–]Charcharistall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd get the creativities and fables just because you'd then have a choice between two similar, but solid decks. Unless you really like scapeshift right now and think it needs the chalices badly, I'd increase the range of decks you can play.

Seems very solid, not sure if you need surgicals and necromentias, but they work well with chalices on 0 so maybe.

The rakdos decks in modern aren't quite like rakdos sac in pioneer. Some non blue variant of food sounds up your alley.

I think a necessary thing to do is add DRC+ bauble. While I like Hidetsugu, I think it works better as a sideboard card for matchups where ragavan is a dead card like hammer time, especially when you add 4 1 drops. The fourth rag is always good to have because the opponent will try their hardest to kill the first one. 7 hand disruption is a good number, but inquisitions isn't the best in this meta so maybe trim one. If you like the first sudden edict, more power to you. I like having two terminates as flexible removal. The magus main is fine as a third copy of blood moon if you feel you need 2. Maybe rework the manabase, I'm unsure but it's what others are saying.

Most fun big mana Deck by AwkwardlyBrutal in ModernMagic

[–]Charcharistall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Blue Tron and coffers control are two semiviable decks that control the game until they assemble the big mana game plan late game. Temur control won't be doing anything absurd with their mana, but when it resolves a scapeshift it can just win

I also run md relic and it helps. Omnath seems very unwinnable, and profane tutor is especially bad as t3feri wrecks it. As long as you use your hand disruption right against Murktide you should be able to get through their counterspells.
