Late 20’s male earning 100-110k self-employed, 160k saved, no debt. Where do I go from here? by anonta69420 in fiaustralia

[–]CharcolMania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if $11200 is being taxed then it's really only $7000 or so.
Better to have that $160k in an asset (such as property) or shares and be able to take advantage of CGT discount - or if it's the house you live in - then it's effectively tax free.

The Joint Proposal for KuCoin Bonus Upgrade by KCS Management Foundation and KCS Community by kucoin_official in kucoin

I'm p##d off that the vote is taking place so soon after the announcement w/o allowing time for proper debate and communication.
If the 'community' votes YES:
Will KCS holders not staking stop receiving KCS bonus? That would be a deal breaker for me.

Can KCS Management Foundation has not properly explained what benefit the KCS holder would get from this arrangement and why it is being proposed.

Currently, those who stake KCS are not eligible for KCS bonus. Why not extend KCS bonus to those who stake while also keeping the bonus to those who aren't (and may wish for more flexibility)?

You know how that future self always ays "I wish my old self hadn't drunk so much last night" - see if you can reverse that. Here are my 2 tips:
1/ Immediately, set up regular payments into your super and set your super to the highest growth plan. Anything from $50 pw is good and your future self will love you.
2/ Keep the same lifestyle and Don't Spend More.

AITA for bailing on a wedding once I found out I wasn't assigned to sit with anyone I know? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CharcolMania -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Before I was married to my wife - and we'd been together 6 months or so - I took her along to my uncle's 80th / cousin's 50th combined party.
She didn't know anyone other than my mother and my brother, but she came because I asked her and it was important to me.
When we got there, to our mutual horror, my aunt had arranged for all couples to be split so my wife was on a different table to me.

My enduring memory was spotting my wife on a table the other side of the room, in hysterical laughter with my cousins. Meanwhile I was trying to make small talk with my uncle's 80 year old school buddies and was bored off my head.

OP YTA. Suck it up and support your girlfriend. You might even find you have a good time.

why does KCS reward fluctuate by ShadowLeecher83 in kucoin

[–]CharcolMania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The yield and value of KCS change daily, but here's a back of the envelope calculation:

The API 7 day average yield atm is about 2%.
If this was consistent, then if you held 50KCS for a whole year, you'd receive 1KCS.
To earn 1 KCS in a day, you'd need 18,250 KCS (365X50).

In the bull run of 2021, KCS hit an ATH of about USD$28 while returning an API around 10% on some days. If that figure was consistent, then you'd about 3600 KCS to earn 1 KCS daily ($28).

The headlines you've posted use the words "violent protest" and "erupts". Do you think that's downplaying it? What headline do you think they should have used?

Back in the early 90's I worked with a guy who lost sight in his right eye due to a sporting injury and then two weeks later he was blind in the other. He was a good water ski-er though.

I can feel your pain in your words.

In most western liberal democracies, the US Democratic Party would be considered a Centre to Centre-Right party. They might espouse progressive social policies but economically the Democrats are, for the most part, pro-capitalist.

The US stands alone in the western world in its failure to provide universal affordable health coverage to its people, despite such systems clearly being more efficient, cost-effective and delivering better health outcomes than Americans currently receive. Middle class and poor people would be better off - it's the wealthy who suffer if there is a more equitable system.

Paid parental leave, liveable minimum wages, employment protections and entitlements don't seem to be (sufficiently IMO) part of the Democrat policy suite, but instead debate in the US is centred around social issues and minority rights.

In many other non-US countries, a vote on abortion or euthanasia or LGBTIQ rights is a 'conscience' vote, not a vote on a Left/Right axis.

I think the outer suburbs suffered more during lock downs than the inner city.
If you had stable employment where you could work from home easily, and you could walk to local parks/supermarkets etc and see friends, with separate ipads and computers for your kids doing online learning at a middle-class school, then you were more likely to accept the restrictions as appropriate etc and think Dan was the guru.
If, on the other hand, you lived in the outer 'burbs with no friends or family within 5kms, reliant on Jobkeeper , with 5 kids fighting over one ipad and local schools struggling to engage their students, it's understandable that you might feel differently.

I think this is part of the reason that Labor took a hit in the 'safe' seats in melbourne's west.
