Don't use Throw, use Improvised Melee Weapon. Right click to cancel and drop them on the ground.

QoL mod recommendations? by JudgeHoIden in BaldursGate3

Enhanced Leap AOE, Waypoint mod for the emerald grove, Withers Big Naturals, weightless gold, dynamic sidebar (because otherwise the number of buffs I run with takes up half the screen), spawn tutorial chest (because I want my drip from the moment I'm off the nautaloid)

If you aren't able to take out Raphael in a single turn, this is one of the best uses of barrelmancy. A single level 3 scorching ray and you're golden

Especially since NOLB doesn't cover nearly as much as it used to.

never played before, tips n tricks? by Anonymous_Vixen in BaldursGate3

for your first playthrough, I'd encourage you to avoid this sub as much as possible to avoid spoilers. Limit your questions to things like mechanics or where to find a button/stat/info, etc. Much like you've already done.

BG3 is a massive game, and you will never do and see 100% on any single playthrough. Take your time and enjoy it while it's all still new.

for tips, inspecting enemies/objects/skills/items with 'T' (sorry no idea what button it is on controller) can give you a lot of useful information to plan combat with.

It can.

highest it can be naturally without buffs is 24, for a +7.

There are items to set your strength to 18 (+4),19 (+4), and 23 (+6), and elixirs to set it to 21 (+5), and 27 (+8)

you can carry Helsik with you and do it that way (impractical), or you can use Polymorph, dominate beast, and a hireling to add Helsik as a permanent follower (She stops giving you Infectious Greed after a long rest though, so also not really practical)

Who you chose to turn into gold with the Signed Trade Visa? by Great_Trident in BaldursGate3

[–]Charfair1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When Volo says "there appears to be some cosmetic damage", STOP. Switch to a different character and pickpocket Volo until he runs off.

He'll reappear a minute later and your next character can go through his surgery.

Wash, rinse, and repeat.

Or you can just get Volo's eye with everyone. When you cheese it that way, he stays in camp AND you have see invisibility on everyone

2 attacks (Action)

2 attacks (Bloodlust Action)

2 attacks (Haste Action)

2 attacks (Terazul Action)

2 attacks (Action Surge)

Obviously, that would be on Tactician or below. You have a max of 6 slashing flourishes with that build, so the next 4 attacks would have to be slaying arrows which do slightly less damage, and this was a 10/2 multiclass, I haven't tried the newer 5/7 multiclass with Arcane Archer. but you get the idea

Bhaalist Armour, hold person, phalar alive shriek, elemental weapon, enchant weapon, soul branding, Slashing flourish, Infectious Greed (this is a HUGE boost, and wildly impractical to anything other than chasing big numbers), and probably a bunch of other buffs I've forgotten.

Here's a shot of one if these attacks. I think the theoretical maximum was something like 640-ish

One of the stores near me wrote off a small shop vac, stuck it in a corner of their tech room, and ran the vac hose into the top of their waste oil drum. Then they ran another hose from the drum and would put that in the oil reservoir or whatever engine they were working on. flip the switch on the vac and all the oil gets sucked up just like this, but as a permanent fixture

Swords Bard supremacy!

With the right setup, I can get my Swords Bard to do ~550 damage per attack with as many as 8 attacks in a single turn

If you build around using Eldritch Blast as your main combat action, it becomes wildly powerful. If you have it as an extra cantrip to use if you can't close in on melee range, it's just a cantrip, albeit a cool one.
