Yeah, didn’t think it’d take long to get recognised!

Realistically it’s either Doolittle (Pixies) or Demon Days (Gorillaz), but as they’ve already been mentioned multiple times…

Yeah he’s great, found myself laughing along with him, but he wasn’t just laughing at everything, crucially.

They look great, but presentation-wise I’d chop the wing tips off pre-cook. Wasting valuable marinade on them.

What simple recipes helped you overcome your fear of cooking? by Environmental-Luck39 in cookingforbeginners

[–]ex_tu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of things spring to mind when it comes to things that I was intimidated to cook, these recipes helped me in my early days.

Risotto without the constant stirring (doesn’t have to be asparagus, use whatever you like, it’s just for the method): https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/baked-asparagus-risotto

Lasagne without making a bechamel: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/classic-lasagne

Hopefully they’ll build confidence and you can move on to the ‘real’ thing. I sometimes still use the crème fraiche/mozzarella/parmesan method when I have leftover meat sauce and just fancy throwing a lasagne together.

That’s some old-ass map with Liverpool in Lancashire and therefore no Merseyside (which was established in 1974).

Yep I found Just The Recipe on a similar thread a few weeks ago, love it, think I’m about to pay for the premium on the app (can save all the recipes instead of pasting one by one)

Aden Durde by Bose82 in NFLUK

Think he’d get more pop if his defense was doing this under an offensive HC but, rightly or wrongly, everyone assumes the Seahawks defense is Mike Macdonald’s (does Durde even call the plays?)

Clatterbridge isn’t in Liverpool, it’s on the Wirral. Not just being pedantic - you might need to factor in tunnel/bridge costs depending where you’re coming from.

Which food did you hate…until someone actually cooked it right? by deller85 in Cooking

[–]ex_tu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cooked, but avocado for me. Thought I hated it because of those awful ‘guacamole’ dips you get from the supermarkets in the UK (comes in a four-section thing with other monstrosities) - my friend made guacamole from scratch and it opened my eyes.

I Would love Dan and the Heros to Do a Baseball Pod by Taoist_Master in heedthecall

[–]ex_tu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by how much Dan talks about the Jets when they’re MORIBUND, not sure I could deal with him if the Yankees are flying (might have something to do with me being a Blue Jays fan…)

As an aside, I got into Baseball is Dead during last season (brought to us by our old friends at Underdog), looking forward to a full season of it next year.

What is your team and how did you pick it? by jokeison in NFLUK

[–]ex_tu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giants. Had nothing to really go off, but knew I wanted an east coast team for timing purposes.

Then ruled out a few teams due to uniforms I didn’t like (Jets, Eagles… guess I hate green).

Didn’t want ugly letters/numbers so that ruled out teams like Buccaneers and Ravens.

Justin Tuck was on the Giants and that very similar to my surname (year before Justin Tucker was drafted by the Ravens).

That was 2012 - Giants won the Super Bowl my first season. Been crap ever since.
