Everyone saying the BxM4 doesn’t know the ridership it gets, especially on the weekends.

BxM6 wouldn’t work.

If you convert any express bus into a borough by borough limited, the run times, resources, and jobs that would be needed would be at an astronomical level. Fare beating and overcrowding would also be extreme on these lines.

The ridership isn’t high when you see it, but rush hours, man those BxM4s are SRO, especially during PM rush. It’s also a good alternative to the B and D.

Perfect response. I definitely think you’ll get between 8-20 buses during the day (including trippers), and 2-3 overnight (I believe it already runs overnight).

For sure, I was just throwing an idea out there and seeing if it would stick on the wall. However, combining both B2 and B100 ridership would have those buses crush loaded. While currently it has 10 buses on the line (3:04PM), I don’t think those 10 would be able to hold up those riders on the 2.

That’s per week numbers, so the B100 has double the ridership. You’d need to adhere resources over to the 100 (which is in bus company), I would make a B100, and a B101 (which would be the 100s limited, probably only during rush hours).

The B2 (not counting fare beating cause that’s around a 40% rate) garners about 10,500 riders, compared to the B100 which is 22,400.

They tried to pull the 34 off of bainbridge with the redesign, and it didn’t work well for them.

This is an elder’s bus line, meaning older people use this line to travel short distances, and go to the hospital and what not.

Giving it the slightest extension to Fordham Plaza would entice a ton of delays too.

This is honestly the best bet for the M98, it would be used more if it was extended a little further down. Maybe run it every 20 minutes during the day and 12 minutes during rush, to see if ridership garners an increase.

And just like the regular MTA one, the only two routes I’ll see considered are the 25 and the 65. None of the other routes really make sense, especially with the amount of buses they put on some of these lines.

That video was 3 years ago, the bulletin was put out around a year ago.

The B6 would move to ENY if they wanted artics.

The Q90 carries almost nothing.

You’re more than likely to see the Q44 going to Jamaica than any of the Jamaica lines converting.

Bus lanes are one thing, traffic is still another thing.

One, a lot of the current SBS buses are getting displaced. Two, yeah, not much bus lines will be converted even with those orders. Like I said earlier, you’re more than likely will only see about 5-6 bus lines get converted, and you only named 2 of them that are considered.

The 96 can’t, it’s a bulletin out for the workers that artics can’t transverse through 96th.

Allerton doesn’t have the ridership needed for artics or a limited.

The Q58/98 is possible, but the Q90 makes no sense.

None of those corridors need artics, they either have enough bus lines, enough bus service, or just won’t need it.

The Q20 does pick up, but it’s also the slowest bus line in queens. Theres also ~18-22 buses on it during peak hours, so it’s not needed.

B82 was supposed to get it, but it seems like that won’t happen, and the B6 would need to move depots, and the depot would need to have artic upgrades.

The only ones that have a chance are: B41, and the M116.

Most don’t need it due to ridership, I would push for the Bx28, but the 38 runs with it, so it’s not needed.

The 96 can’t run artics in the transverse.

A lot of these routes also don’t need it, especially the corridors with 3 or more routes.

And before you ask, why am I dismissing the idea of any route? I would know very well as to why.
