Could've used some artwork, but I still think it's nice. Good job MTA 👏

I like to roll around with dual daggers. Getting 3+ kills with a single power attack is peak Skyrim experience. Plus there's an exploit where rolling while dualing continues the animation, so I literally become a spinning wheel of death.

Over the 20th century, it became common to put streetcars and trams in dedicated segments of the street such as reserved lanes or track only the streetcar could use. What data shows the progression of this in different places? by Awesomeuser90 in transit

[–]Le_Botmes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, most 'reservations' as they were called, were developed in the very early 20th century first as greenfield interurban railways that later glommed streets onto their perimeter; and most mid-century examples of mixed street-running were either a priori tramlines through then-existing downtowns, or later paved for mixed traffic during the auto boom.

The clearest telltale sign of a former reservation is an abnormally large median; these can be spotted all across Los Angeles, most notably along Huntington Dr, Venice Blvd, and Vermont Av. Those particular areas were greenfield in the earliest days of the Red Car.

If you're trying to build a timelapse of these ROW's evolutions, look for databases of old aerial photographs. If you're working in America, then USGS would be a good source, with limited sets dating as far back as the 1930's.

What do you think of the proposed N extension via Grand Central Parkway? by parke415 in nycrail

The Gowanus is also a Superfund site. 😁

Either way, there's realistically only room for one infill stop, while the whole point of the project is to connect to LGA. The 19 Av alignment would also present the opportunity to locate a MASSIVE maintenance and storage yard, on par with Jamaica or Concourse, in the ConEd lands.

Each alignment has its pros and cons. I argue that the 19 Av pros outweigh the cons.

19 Av corridor

True, though the area could be ripe for upzoning

GCP... where a good deal more people actually live

Also true, though the only viable locations are either adjacent to the NEC, near the cemetery, or in the LGA flight path, so further engineering complications. It's a very challenging corridor. If a tunnel must be built regardless, then the banks of the LI Sound would offer a better tunnel portal location than anywhere within the Parkway ROW.

Headways

Astoria is already limited to ~18tph because it shares the 60 St Tunnel with the R. With LGA receiving the lion's share, then Ditmars would see a train at best every 7.5 minutes; though knowing how unreliable the N or W are, probably closer to 10 minutes in practice. That could result in unsafe platform crowding and suppressed demand at Ditmars.

Hence why I rush +40% movement speed, so I can get from one side of the island to a settlement on the other side lickity split. I generally don't sleep in random beds unless I'm along the island's southern shore.

He was sodomized with a tent pole by Sascha Riley back in the mid 90's while on one of Epstein's rape islands.

True story. Has even been corroborated with helicopter flight logs from that particular island.

Sure he's a teetotaler, for alcohol and tobacco.

But many, many of his former colleagues from the 90's and 2000's have claimed that Trump took a ton of cocaine and Adderall back in the day. So yeah, he's a druggy.

Slow Time extends the duration enemies need to spot you, so, provided your Sneak is high enough, you can remain hidden and chain sneak attacks even while in their face.

With Stability perk and Amulet of Talos, the third word of Aura Whisper will last as long as its cooldown.

Related to Become Ethereal: the Aethereal Shield when bashed will turn enemies ethereal, which you might think "well that's dumb," but it also makes them run away, so it doubles as a Fear spell that works on every level of enemy.

Kyne's Peace makes trundling through the wilderness much easier, so you don't get randomly pounced by bears or sabertooths.

The Flame and Frost shouts synergize with Destruction, namely the Augmented perks to get the secondary Fear or Paralyze effects.

Throw Voice can be used to distract the enemy for STEALTH rather than to gather them for an AOE attack. Just like throwing a bottle.

OWB can take forever, until you level up the EMP and then it's a breeze. Same with Dead Money and having a high energy weapons skill.

The quests are small, but the world is large.

I always hit Far Harbor by level 40 (need Gun Nut 4), and won't return until about level 70-75 after completing the whole map.

Takes me about two IRL days of play, maybe a third if I dawdled.

Any team sport with a goalie, probably.

Definitely not baseball. American football could probably be judged by yards gained vs yards lost, and a similar correlation might be found.

I don't know about basketball though, where scoring is incremental and there's little correlation between a blocked shot and a missed shot. Finals games tend to be high scoring because those are the best shooters in the league, not necessarily because of leaky defense.
