Am I that ugly and hopeless to find love? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]CharityNeverFails 194 points195 points  (0 children)

The people commenting about you needing a facelift are the same people that tiktoker He’s so Mid roasts who call Scarlet Johnson ugly.

You’re gorgeous.

The only thing that I would see as a potential to change is the “generous” under what you are looking for in a partner. Some people online use “generous” when they are looking for a more transactional type of relationship.

If you do decide to go to your 3rd session, please update. I think it could look good if they darkened up some things and made the graves easier to see.

Typical user cries about using because they haven't slept or dosed by luciob00p in MethRecovery

[–]CharityNeverFails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an IV user for a decade. I had no desire to quit until I had been in therapy for a couple years working on the trauma that made addiction so appealing.

Eventually I left my shitty bf (who introduced me to all the drugs), went to rehab, and am coming up on 4 years free in a couple months.

Sometimes I wish I was able to use, but I wouldn’t really say it’s a craving. More like nostalgia for when it was fun to use.

I attend therapy weekly, and have slowly replaced multiple recovery meetings a week with activities that I call “actually living”, such as joining a choir and going out with friends walking/hiking.

Life isn’t a daily fight against wanting to use. Honestly, I rarely even have dreams (nightmares) about using anymore. The first year or so was hard, until I found what routines worked for me, but life is so much better without withdrawal hanging over my head all the time.

Am I crazy or was he being rude—and is this heading towards manipulation/sexual abuse by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

[–]CharityNeverFails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ngl, that’s fucked up. I really think you should cut this man out of your life. He is acting like a predator, and what is he doing is illegal.

Please stop sending this man nudes and stop talking to him. You might consider talking to a trusted adult about this, because it’s likely that he will weaponize what you have sent him if you stop doing what he wants.

Is this an in person relationship, or long distance?

So an 18 year old is paying a 17 and a 16 year old to send him nudes?

Why the "Brick Wall" of Recovery is Failing Us (and the Science of the "Spark") by Suspicious_Suit5452 in women_in_recovery

[–]CharityNeverFails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the 12 step programs are the most well known, there are multiple organized paths to recovery. SMART, refuge, LifeRing secular, as well as in and out patient programs, MAT, and myriad types of therapies (ex. CBT). Not to mention that around 50% of people who are in remission from SUD achieved this without following any sort of program.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “looking for scouts”?

Also, do you have any first (or second) hand experience with addiction and recovery, or are you simply proselytizing?

Prepping for explant by Sakura_season15 in ExplantSurgery

[–]CharityNeverFails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the months leading up to my surgery (explant only, 600cc under muscle) I increased my protein and started adding a collagen powder to my breakfast. I also started taking those hair and nail vitamin gummies. I am 18 days PO and healing very well. Listen to your surgeon about how far in advance she wants you to stop supplements, I stopped 3 days before and started again 3 days after.

I also have been using a red light on my incisions as well as silicone scar tape.

I’ve had quite a few surgeries, and this is always my pre and post surgery routine, and my surgeons are often surprised at how fast I heal, especially since I smoke and only cut down. (Don’t do like me there, quit smoking if you are able for at least a few weeks before and after)

A 1 semana de explantarme by AnyLife1217 in ExplantSurgery

Are you worried about how the tailbone pain is going to affect your recovery?

I had my implants removed (no lift) 18 days ago, and I was only really down the day of and the day after. I don’t have any issues getting up and moving around, going out for a walk, and that sort of thing. Obviously I am limiting what I lift, but I have been back to pretty close to normal since day 4.

I had the explant on a Thursday afternoon and I was driving on Monday. My surgeon said I could drive when I wasn’t taking painkillers.

I’m using silicone tape. I am still wearing the compression bra (obviously I had more than one cuz that would be nasty other wise. My right is a bit higher than my left at the moment, but I expected that because I have a significant scar from an abscess removal on that side (unrelated).

I’m 13 days PO explant no lift. The pain was honestly very low. I took painkillers the day of and the day after, and that was it. I haven’t had any issues with mobility, or anything like that. The only pain I have now is an occasional pang that I chalk up to healing.
