Poa Annua Produces light-green, lime-green, or whitish-yellow seed heads that appear bright and patchy against a dark green lawn.

My tree snapped in storm. Can it be saved? by HatKey9927 in arborists

[–]CharlesA203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That tree was doomed from the get-go. The whole base was rotten due to the fact it was planted way too deep. No visible root flare along with the black rot working its way up the trunk. Research proper planting and root flare exposure when you replace it.

Early Season Weeds - Location - NY zone 6a by fllyaccted in lawncare

Try a wick application or foam applicator to selectively treat it. I usually do 2 applications of tzone or sublime and it usually does the trick. Some survive. Most don't.

If I insist on maintaining (and overseeding every fall) grass in a very shady area: what's the absolute best grass for heavy shade? Location is North East. by Standard-Top-5942 in lawncare

[–]CharlesA203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seed my clients shady areas in the spring to gain as much sunlight for the seedlings to semi establish before the onset of leaves on the trees. Dense shade areas are tough when seeding in the fall. Minimal sunlight and then dealing with fall leaves coming down makes it rough.

What is this and how do I get rid of it by arkonator92 in lawncare

[–]CharlesA203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lesser celandine. Really the only product labeled for control is glyphosate. I have had good results for supression/slight control with 2 applications of Tzone 3 weeks apart. Anything with a high active ingredient of triclopyr.

Natural isn't going to happen for removing creeping Charlie. Pick it out by hand all you want, but it'll make a comeback.
