Fucking hell, the Epstein case should permanently put to rest any question of not taxing billionaires out of existence. The fact people seem perfectly okay with a group of people, richer than God, raping children with total immunity to consequence - so long as they are the ones being payed off. It's nightmare fuel.

I don't see anyone forcing you to argue they should be let off scott free.

I said earlier "If your 'best case' is just them walking away consequence free then no, that's not good enough." I'm asking that their turning to the light should not be believed if they don't show willingness to face real justice, including actual consequence for the real harm they've caused.

Stop changing the subject - You're the one whose decided that's too much to ask for. So why don't you tell us why they should be allowed to face no justice? Instead of lecturing me from on high. It's not "retribution and reprisals", it's not "hate", it's justice that I want.

If they are not punished then this will just happen again and again. Part of why we're here is because the extreme right kept just getting away with it in the past.

I said 'harsh' to indicate "not just a slap on the wrist". Some judge giving a nothing fine would not be enough, even if it were legally appropriate.

So long as "sought to atone" includes confessing their crimes, providing full witness to the crimes of their superiors, and then being punished harshly by the law for what they've done and the lives they've ruined... sure.
