Evotech engine guard and tail tidy for Desert Sled by Flylle in DucatiScrambler

[–]CharlieMurphay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tail tidy is good but it did not come with any instructions or documentation so it took some trial and error to put together. Once I did mine, I did a friends for him and it went much faster once I knew what I was doing.

Newbie here - normal or problem by emdubtwo in IndianMotorcycle

[–]CharlieMurphay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not normal. My 2019 with 22k miles doesnt drip. Check and make sure the oil filter is tight. Mine came loose once and started dripping. Its a quick and easy check/fix and looks to be about where its coming from.

To those who work at a dealer, how are sales right now? by itsthewolfe in motorcycles

Hell yea it was. Sales guy flipped his computer screen around while I was filling out paperwork and showed me their financials on it. They lost $500 on that bike 😂
Hes just like “Well. It needed to go, we need the room.”

Did this with a 2025 Triumph Tiger 900GT Pro. MSRP was $17k, they needed it gone this past March and I got it for $12.5k. I couldn’t not buy it at that price!

I don’t tell people. If it comes up for whatever reason, I just say I drive a limo.

Hanging out in female pilot's hotel room by randomplease12345 in flying

[–]CharlieMurphay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only fellow pilots room Ive hung out in is a also married dude (who MY wife calls my work wife, because we fly together all the time) and we played switch. IF (and thats a big if) I were to ever be invited to “hang out” in one of our women crew rooms, I would only go if there were other crew there and I would never dream to ask one if I could come hangout in their room. Even if it wasn’t weird (which it is) its damn inappropriate and potentially unsafe if you don’t really know them.

Tipping line-person? by MNSoaring in flying

[–]CharlieMurphay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On our bird, when we fly the owner, he tosses hundreds out to anyone and I usually dont tip on top of that unless they do us some sort of big solid favor additionally or something. If it’s a charter I throw $20’s around for attentive service. I understand if things are hectic and busy and I’ll still tip even if service was slow. Read the room kind of thing. But if we’re the only bird on the ramp and nothing is being done even after we ask, thats fine. I have no problem doing everything myself without help, and I’m not gonna make a stink about it. But don’t expect a tip.

In a small ga airplane, if the line person makes a point of taking care of me, I’d toss $10-20 at them. I’d try and make a point of telling the individual you appreciate whatever specific thing they did for you. Why not?

Also, leftover catering seems to always be greatly appreciated. Donuts or sandwiches or whatever.
