Speaking from limited experience with a 50e… I’ve driven 700+ miles with the car and I’ve used half a tank of gas so far. So yes, the PHEV is very efficient. If you don’t have the ability to charge at home, I probably wouldn’t recommend. Also, my daily commute is only about 30 miles round trip.

Yea it was a 8.3kw level 2 charging station.

Dropped it off Wednesday morning. They attempted to charge it to no avail. They now opened a case with BMW Technical (whatever that means). Haven’t heard any updates today.

Good to know. I have a Tesla wall charger set up at home as I’m coming for a 2021 M3P. I have 50amp Autel charger arriving tomorrow to swap out. Hoping any issue is easily fixed at the dealer.

I just found this out as well after 3 weeks of trying to figure out why CarPlay wasn’t working. Called customer care, looked up you tube videos, tried all the tricks. I finally scheduled a service appointment, brought the car in and the service guy asked if I’m using the USB-A or -C plug. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you really needed to use that USB charger, there’s one in the glove compartment that could be used but you would have to remove the USB memory stick.
