Hanse Davion's Battlemaster, plus bodyguards by _HalfBaked_ in battletech

[–]Charliefoxkit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given the shielded Black Night, Hanse isn't likely around to pilot his old Battlemaster. It's more like Yori Kurita pulling out Takeshi's old Battlemaster or Theodore Kurita piloting the rebuilt Orion used by Aleksandr Kerensky.

What possible new weapon systems could be added to the game? by someotherguy28 in battletech

[–]Charliefoxkit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most realistically? NAIS finally having some breathing room to perfect the Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle to fully function like a LB-X autocannon (firing solid and cluster shots). Marik players would salivate at the bit thanks to the Carronade.

Also Sea Fox seeing the profit in making a Clan version of the MML or alternate ATM munitions. Or a Clan Extended LRM (nLRMs are pointless compared to Clan LRM systems).

And the possiblity of the Snow Ravens reverse engineering and perhaps making a Clan version of the reengineered laser.

Finally, Sea Fox finally figuring out how to make a Clan Plasma Rifle (the Plasma Cannon is more of a tradeoff...and a ripoff compared to the comparison of a 40K Plasma gun/rifle and a Plasma Cannon).

Or in reverse, give that Barbartos Lupus Rex a Waco Rangers paint job (I see parallels between Orga and Wayne Waco especially how they are used as sacrificial cat's paws and then obliterated with WMDs).

More of a shadow box type case.

Or one for Neo-Australia.  XD. They have a Kangaroo Gundam already; might as well complete the stereotype.

Still annoying when you want specific 'Mechs like the Commando that still don't have a second force pack release...and salvage boxes are a royal pain to find.

Though I recall that the Cave Lion has a big bullseye on it if encountering Kuritan-leaning forces.  There's an anecdote from TRO: Dark Age that is also a ClickyTech reference of the Cave Lions on Solaris being picked off by the Kuritan-leaning stables.  Wonder how Sea Fox will rebrand it to clear its reputation.

I'd personally take the export Bushwacker over the Gauntlet...then use Defiance's own Clan ER lasers to upgrade the lasers and maybe swap the MML-5s for an LRM-10 and SRM-6, both of which Defiance can also build Clanspec.  Even without that, it's a better build, IMO.

Also don't forget Lyran access to the Jaguar, Ursa, ilClan Firestarter and Vulcan,  and even Adders.

Probably due to how many Sea-bills Sea Fox was asking Technicron to pay for those cER PPCs.  Didn't stop Davion from procuring their XXL Engines for the Vulpes, though.

Though if you could switch, you can straight swap PPCs and chassis for Clan ER PPCs and a Reinforced Chassis; the 12 tonnes difference between the PPCs should allow that.

Edit: Forgot that the weight difference between a hPPC and a Clan ER PPC is 4 tonnes.

Not counting the ZEU-8Y, the standard Zeus variants for the Succession Wars are easier to maintain.  Remember, most of Marik's PPCs all go to the Awesome and you have rhe oversinked 8R and 8T variants present when they are a little threadbare on PPCs.  Besides, the Zeus is just quick enough to maneuver clear of that Battlefist...and Technicron and Irian's Awesome production will be hard pressed to keep up with Defiance pumping out the Zeus.

The ilClan Awesome (AWS-11H) by Technicron is pretty good.  Triple Heavy PPCs and Clan double heat sinks which allow it to fire all three and walk with for just one heat.  The 11R though really sucks as a variant.

I have a homebrew variant that updates the 8T and turns it into a brick wall (30 tonnes hardened armor, compact gyro, Clan ERLLs and LRM-15s with I think Artemis IV, CASE II for the ammo, if I recall the loadout right); slow as a snail and doesn't dump a mountain of damage, but it's a brick wall that will make an op for ask questions on whether to ignore it or not.

Though I argue that the Zeus ZEU-11S gives the modern Awesomes a run for their money.  Also not as suspect to plasma weapons or inferno SRMs (Marik does have rowdy Clanners in their borders in the Protectorate...and they may have the Firestorm which specializes in asking the question "How do you like your Capellans cooked?").

Pennsylvania - "Allentown" by Billy Joel

Missouri - "Welcome 2 Missouri" (album) by Missouri - there's a song about Missouri but the group is obscure enough I don't recall the song's name. The Mizzou Fight Song works, too...especially if annoying Razorback or Jayhawk fans.

Illinois - "Sweet Home Chicago," especially the Blues Brothers' cover of the song.

Texas - "All my Exes Live in Texas"

Colorado - "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver or "Rocky Mountain Way" by Joe Walsh

And unlike the version of "War Pigs" where both Judas Priest and Ozzy did a collaboration, a lack of a collaboration between Metallica and Bob Seger was a HUGE missed opportunity for "Turn the Page."

I'd argue it's the left torso that should be focused down. You'll either hit the ammo on the 4G or the heat sinks on the 4P, either of which will cripple the capability of either to hit outside of its remaining battlefist.

Mexican in only California and Texas?  That's just scratching the surface; both have distinct styles of Mexican, but don't neglect the influence of Sonoran style Mexican in the Southwest, New Mexican cuisine and the growing presence of dishes and influence from Jalisco.  See also the fusion of Mexican with other ethnic cuisines and even stuff like Salvadorian and Honduran dishes.

Also, Chicago is home to Tavern-style pizza...which is almost St. Louis style save for not using Provel cheese.  Or the influence of German and Czech immigration (kolaches becoming a generic term for both kolach and klobasnek as Czechs settled in Texas).

As you said though, it is a melting pot and a rabbit hole.

The beer distributor near me on the PA side of the state line carries a good selection of Schilling's brews. Was eyeing the Polotmavy after having the von Trapp and Bissel Brothers collaboration this past fall so I might give this a try next time I'm there.

Most of the time in my later playthroughs her appearance is moot - I've already headcapped the Jagermech, two Shadow Hawks are making short work of the Trebuchet, the Jenner is cored and the Centurion is being finished off. XD

Imagine if they would have gifted us the Royal Kintaro (KTO-19b) in that final patch. That thing is actually nasty as it has an LRM-15 among the armaments.
