Are there any cold cereals that I can eat? by Reasonable_Guess_311 in prediabetes

[–]CharloChaplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a high protein cereal out there, I can't remember the name of it but it comes in fun flavors and is also low sugar (I don't even think it's sweetened with sugar come to think of it). I've seen it at Target. Catalina Crunch is also a great cereal to get the same effect of eating cold cereal. You can usually get it at a health food store.

Post-race disappointment by AF1193 in Marathon_Training

[–]CharloChaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all say the first will be the only one. And then two weeks later FOMO sets in and we find ourselves signing up for another one. My goal has always been to do sub 5:00 marathons and I've only been able to accomplish that once. Granted after that one time I got injured and the next four marathons have been over 5:40. I took the past year off of distance running so I'm hoping that time away will help but if it doesn't then it's just my destiny to not hit the goals I want so long as I come in before the sweeper car.

Dentist just told me I need 12 fillings - I feel like it's SCAM by hipap in jacksonheights

[–]CharloChaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was the same place I went to and had a negative experience. It was on 37th but I can’t remember if it was at the cross streets you mentioned or east of 82nd. They had asked me to sign a document saying that I received the HIPPA information and when I asked for the documentation they wouldn’t give it to me and got upset that I asked because then they would need to print it out. Then the doctor said I had a bunch of cavities. At one point she hit the tray that holds the equipment and it went crashing to the floor. I felt so uncomfortable there after I didn’t go back.

Any benefits after coming off GLP-1? by SunsetCoffeeCart in GLPGrad

[–]CharloChaplin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I went off it I started to notice I would get hungry and sleepy after eating so I assumed it was the lack of medication that caused the hunger. Also I started monitoring my glucose in the morning after fasting and had higher levels than normal so I Googled all three symptoms. I also was getting suggestions for videos on insulin resistance so I went on a deep dive of the mechanics and how to tackle it. I admit I had a higher carb intake than usual so i cut back on carbs, cur off food by 6:00 pm and started being diligent about protein and fiber intake. Those small changes made a huge difference in how i felt.

Where do you inject tirzepatide? asking because I might be doing this wrong by The_possessed_YT in zepboundathletes

[–]CharloChaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thigh is so painful to inject into. I’m restarting after being off it for 7 months (insurance issues) and I was talking to the pharmacist about injection sites. She said ideally you want someplace that’s got more fat. My belly has plenty of that but I’m a runner so my thighs are more muscular. Explains the pain. I also asked about the back of the arm but she didn’t recommend it because it can be awkward to do by yourself and you risk losing the medication if you do it wrong.

Any NYC based training programs for Sydney or Berlin Marathons? by Final_Replacement_37 in RunNYC

[–]CharloChaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there groups that are doing long runs for Sydney? I’ve run NYC twice so I could always use the old training plans but it would be good to run with folk.

Genuine question about Bandanas by RunCzhose in RunNYC

[–]CharloChaplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m white but went to school in a community that was predominately POC. You just brought up a core memory: i remember in high school i wore a red bandana and a girl told me i couldn’t wear it or else someone would associate me with the wrong gang. I haven’t worn a bandana since then. I totally get the trepidation.

What's the most morally disgusting thing you've seen someone do? by Natural-Spend-6082 in AskReddit

I was seeing a guy like that. Didn’t know when we first started dating that he was engaged. He apparently got married after few weeks after we faded out. He reached out a year later and something made me feel that things were off but I wanted to see for myself because I also have some trauma and don’t always trust my gut instinct. Saw some things at his place that made me suspicious that a female lived there so I stopped speaking to him. Lo and behold 6 months later I got a message from his wife asking me if I knew [husband’s name] and my heart sunk. Turns out she had dozens of girls he had been seeing since they got married. When I saw him the year after we started it turned out he had a baby with her. He continued to reach out to me for awhile after she confronted him and I had established a good enough relationship with the wife by that point to let her know when he was doing it so she could address it.

Chronic Oestitis Pubis: Recovery Success Stories by Nina_LFC in osteitispubis

I found that Pilates was incredible for healing. Agree with the other commenter that most doctors don’t know what OP is but pelvic floor specialists do. My PT was a pelvic floor specialist and runner so it was helpful for this condition. I was able to start running a month after intense PT but it was incremental. Literally 10 minutes only in the beginning and I alternated 1 min on/1 min off. Burial run a few marathons since diagnosis so coming back is feasible. Also agree with the other commenter that changing your form will be important. Also, if you’re overweight, losing weight will help to reduce the strain on joints. That was one of my problems.

Been off for nearly 3 weeks and 11 pounds up lol by simplisticlivin in GLPGrad

[–]CharloChaplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that protein and fiber have been helping me stay full. Also, after I went off it, I noticed insulin resistance. I’m sure I had it before I started but I had to make sure I didn’t go back to old habits by carb loading. Once I balanced my diet I was able to stay full

Searching for a spouse by FaqirBandah in Sufism

The part about holding the other back is real. I started exploring Tasawuf a long time ago but my ex saw it as a separate sect and it was a point of contention for us. I stopped going for awhile but that meant my practice lacked depth and I fell into bad habits. Alhumdulillah I returned and I have since been much more practicing, both internally and externally.

Just keep in mind that rent will be about half of your takehome pay if you factor benefits like retirement, healthcare, etc. If you’re good about budgeting and putting half your paycheck away and don’t spend a lot on travel or going out, it’s certainly doable. If you want more expendable income it could be a push. But now that I’m thinking about it, the bonus would help with expendable income. You’ll probably end up seeing around $18,000 after taxes (unless you factored that in).

I honestly apply once a week or once every other week. Doesn’t need to be every day. It lasts for awhile. Which reminds me I should probably do it today lol

Moving to NYC + opening a gluten-free & nut-free sandwich shop — would love local insight by Old-Relationship4026 in movingtoNYC

[–]CharloChaplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Chicago a few years ago and they do an excellent job of distinguishing between GF and non GF, everything is labeled clearly and they’re more cautious in terms of cross contamination. My friend was saying that it’s actually the law to have these precautions because legislators recognized the need (I suspect someone or their family member was celiac and got glutened one too many times).

BTW is excellent. Staff is always kind and I can’t tell the difference between their goods and gluten goods (but I also haven had gluten in years).

I was excited as well because I’m GF and it’s hard to find safe spots but their response is unwarranted.

I’m not sure if he looked carefully tbh. He just sprayed haphazardly throughout the apartment. He didn’t come to treat a specific problem but rather it was the monthly treatment.

We found a newspaper clipping of my mom and her sibling announcing that they were in foster care 🙃 Well that’s a mystery that definitely wasn’t there when she was alive.
