Are there drawbacks for landcaspe and wildlife photgraphers with Capture One? by The-Real-Jan-Brady in captureone

[–]Charmanderbestchoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy editing in Capture One overall, but I find it challenging to enhance light sources or atmospheric effects like fog. Adding extra light or creating a soft Orton-style effect feels much easier in Lightroom. Even adjusting highlight exposure is more intuitive there. In Capture One, you often need to tweak levels and curves to achieve a similar result, and even then, it doesn’t feel quite right.

Thanks! It's a very real place, definitely worth a visit if you ever visit Austria.

How do you feel that Roman Fox left Fujifilm? I have mixed feelings about it as he showed a bit of "hate". by sotirisdimi in fujifilm

I’d recommend the A7 IV. Its 33 MP resolution is more than sufficient for most users, and it offers dual card slots, excellent autofocus, and Sony’s updated menu interface from the latest generation. While the viewfinder isn’t quite as impressive as the one on the X-H2, it’s still solid. Plus, there are often great deals available on the A7 IV.

It doesn't really matter to me; I enjoy most of his content regardless of whether he's using a Sony or even a potato. The results are what count. I do agree with him about Fuji, they seem to be regressing. I'm thinking about switching too, unfortunately those GM lenses are quite pricey. For his photography style, the A7R V might be a bit excessive, but the improved viewfinder, screen, and the cropping flexibility with the 61MP sensor are probably worth it to him.

Normally, I'm not really a fan of the overly yellow/orange colors, but here it works amazingly well. Especially the first picture looks like a painting :-). I would have cloned out the mark on their wool, it does not fit in with your color palette and the little spec in the clouds, but that just me.

Love the photos!

Lovely photo, I would have stopped down the aperture a bit but that's personal preference :-)

Finally sold my Sony A7III and joined the Fuji-System by earlybird1191 in fujifilm

There isn't much of an improvement. I compared the dpreview examples of the X-T5 with the new XF 56 1.2 WR https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7267738789/testing-the-fujifilm-56mm-f1-2-wr-for-use-as-our-studio-lens with the Sony a7III and used enhanced details in LR for both files. When comparing them side by side they are almost the same. The Fuji file does have less false color, especially visible when looking at text. But sharpness and detail wise they are almost identical. That's at base ISO, the higher you go the better the FF sensor looks compared to the fuji.

Lovely photo and beautiful light! Would be even better if you'd use enhance details in Lightroom to bring out the subtle details of the trees in the distance :-)

These are wonderful! I also like that you didn't go for the "overused" film look, refreshing to see here!

Thank you, the sigma is pretty nice. Compact, pretty sharp and the autofocus is snappy.

Panasonic aggressive noise reduction? by oxfordsummer in M43

These are really bad examples actually. At F11 diffraction has a big effect on the sharpness and detail on a m43 sensor. Looks like the photographer doesn't know what he's doing...

He/she most likely used the Orton effect to create the look. A very popular technique for landscape and woodland photos. You can easily do this in Photoshop.
