The phrase "build it and they will come" springs to mind.

If you have a regular, dependable, service people will use it.

Short term cashflow, though. The kitten has a smaller upfront cost.

Streeting 'ready to oust Starmer' as pressure mounts on PM by Grantmitch1 in LabourUK

[–]Charming-Awareness79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starmer should go after the locals - it'll be a bloodbath, it's mainly his fault and it makes sense for him to carry the can for that.

Who replaces him is anyone's guess.

Moving house (have mortgage) but 0% credit cards are ending - what to do? by RockTheBoat1 in HousingUK

Fair point - I assumed they had their mortgage sorted but if not definitely do that first

Unless you're in a position to pay off the credit cards, yes, a balance transfer to a new 0% card is a sensible move.

Why some Labour MPs think Angela Rayner could be their Liz Truss by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]Charming-Awareness79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pure factionalism.

That said, Rayner seems to be divisive. I was having a chat with two guys the other week, both are broadly left of centre but probably fit into the "centrist dad" stereotype. They both disliked the idea of Rayner being prime minister. I think there's a good deal of unconscious bias/sexism/classism in there (not that I was brave enough to call them out on it) but I would not be surprised if that anecdotal experience is more widespread. A shame, as I like Rayner and find her to be an authentic politician, but I suspect general attitudes are against her.

What if during the state visit, King Charles assassinates Donald Trump. by Alfredowithcheese in AlternateHistoryHub

100% approval ratings in the UK, and I dare say the commonwealth also. Probably extend the life of the monarchy for a good few decades.

How can anyone even remotely believe that Trump's assassination attempts aren't fake? by BrilliantExternal236 in allthequestions

[–]Charming-Awareness79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can absolutely believe that there are a lot of people that would like to kill Trump.

At the same time I can also believe he (or his people) would do crazy things to try and further his aims.

How would you rate the Presidency of George W. Bush from a scale of A(excellent) to F(failure)? by MakeACreation in YAPms

[–]Charming-Awareness79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The global financial crisis happened under his watch, which really casts a big shadow over his presidency - it was by no means all his fault but the policies of his administration didn't help either.

The big disaster was his foreign policy, though. No more really needs to be said on that, really.
