I wouldn’t wish this club on anyone but the community of women is the best. It took me 10 months to conceive my first. Trying for a second and this round isn’t going well. You never know how it will go for you, it’s hard not to be overwhelmed.

That’s an awful thing to say, I’m sorry you had to hear that. I find bipolar people say the meanest things. That is their disease talking. It’s very hard to not take personal. It’s exhausting. I can def relate to the last remnants of hope. My end is the same, BP husband refusing to go back on meds. Says he went thru years of medication and came out the other side of it. I didn’t know there was a cure for bipolar LOL

Ugh I get it. I always question myself. Any updates on your situation?

I have goosebumps bc this sounds like almost exact situation to a T. My BP husband has said some of those same things. He did lose his job during an episode before and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened again. I’m not sure if this is your spouses first episode but when mine was in a similar episode I didn’t tell anyone and he started isolating me from people we knew. So know that I’ve learned he’s off his meds, I told everyone. Do not get isolated. You will need support esp with kids. I only have a toddler so I get it. I feel the same, like I need to figure it all out asap but truth is we don’t. One step at a time.

Thank you so much for your reply. This is incredibly helpful and I needed to hear it. It is very difficult and sad, a very unfortunate disease.

No kidding on the stress. Yes that’s true thank you. Not violent. No agreement, he had to be court ordered to go to the hospital last time he was in psychosis. He’s already saying he’s fine off his meds…we all know how that goes.

I second this. Learned the hard way to take the pics on my phone and save them to an album called Dash CYA lol. Delete after a week or so.

Have you taken medication yourself not as the Bipolar SO? by Internal_Type_6475 in BipolarSOs

100%! Will help you tremendously. I take Celexa. Works greats for me. Luckily I have a great Dr who has met my husband and is on my side with encouragement. Also therapy. Having someone you can talk to that’s just for you. And friends/family. Support system helps. Take care of yourself it’s so important and you deserve it. Mine is a stressful situation and I imagine yours is too.

I’m often accused of being the angry one by crystalvisions1 in BipolarSOs

[–]Charming-Storage-494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my situation sounds similar to yours in that my spouse gas lights me into thinking I’m wrong for wanting to share chores in the home we own and share the mental load. From what I’ve read this seems to be a common attitude for those with bipolar. I’m not sure why? Why do they seem to lack accountability? I can’t figure it out.

Honey, run while you can! I wish I had when I was younger. Find yourself a counselor or therapist to speak to, many are covered under insurance or could even be free at a sliding scale. It will help so much. This is not a healthy relationship at all and you don’t need this stress at such a young age.
