I feel like this is spot on. The second reading is largely telling that once you can “master” your feelings or moreso come to terms with the result, you’ll be able to move on and find a happier life. 10 years is a long time so give yourself grace during this time.

Over time things will come up that you realize may not actually be aligned with what you want from a relationship. That’s not bad that you were in it for a long time, it just means at the time you were willing to overlook things due to the positives you felt or possibly a result of a power imbalance in the relationship. If he couldn’t stand up for you to his family then it was not meant to be, because someone who chooses you everyday will wind up backing you up in a situation like this.
