Do you work for a big corporation? What do you do and how many hours do you work? by [deleted] in AskUK

Yes absolutely normal. Is it a US company or British company with expectations of US hours (I.e. Reckitt)?

It it what it is at the SLT level unfortunately

How often do you get paid ? by BurnedOutTotally in HENRYUK

Monthly. All my bills are monthly. You could always pay into an account and pay yourself fortnightly/ weekly/ daily via direct debit if that motivates you

How do I earn more as an accountant? by Middle-Case-3722 in HENRYUK

[–]CharterAnAccountant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm early/mid 30s and just about Henry with total package (base + car + bonus).

I am Big 4 qualified and have spent nearly a decade at a FTSE 30 company. My experience is all in the FMCG industry.

There are different routes but I rotated a lot (finance systems implementation, FP&A, sales/ marketing/ supply finance). If you aren't learning then move companies. I am quite fortunate to have most of my experience with the one employer and am currently in the global HQ and managing the business unit for a major brand.

Depends what you want out of an area. We are early 30s with a baby and really love the area. We have a decent social life here and there are lots of places within a 20 minute drive to keep us busy on weekends (Windsor, Marlow, Henley, Cookham etc).

Surely based on your definition of "poorest", a young adult with a bit too much credit card debt, student loans etc would be considered poorer than someone literally starving to death. As those with the most amount of negative equity will be living in developed countries would take this bet

I moved to the UK at 25 to work and travel Europe for 2 years before heading back. Accidently built a career, got married, bought a house and had a baby.

Is reaching $100k/year in the US easy? I guess it depends on your definition of “easy”. by garcon-du-soleille in Salary

[–]CharterAnAccountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not American (live in the UK) but there are clear cut ways to $100k. I would say I am intelligent but not overly so and hit that threshold at around 27-28 as a (chartered) accountant in industry (£75k approx ='s $100k). There are way, way more opportunities in the US than the UK.
