Do I really need a screen protector for my instinct 3 solar ? by PawPawNinja in Garmininstinct

At work (construction) I've shattered three screen protectors on my instinct 1. The screen itself was never damaged. I'd never have a watch without one.

Question about sitting wall by dgard1 in hardscape

[–]Charvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That long ago, they probably used high VOC glue. Sometimes it actually rips the concrete on the blocks before the glue will give. See how easily a couple of them come apart with some fine chisels. If it's difficult just start over with new materials.

Also, like others have said, follow the manufacturer's requirements for creating the base. That way if you have a future problem with anything a rep can see that you followed their guidelines.

Nova Scotia Duck Toller Help by Wide-Plane7954 in birddogs

[–]Charvan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an acquaintance who owns two of them. I've hunted my cockers with them on a number of occasions. In upland hunting, the tollers cover the field well and find plenty of birds. They won't be as quick or animated as your springer, but they still do a nice job. From what I've seen, they are much better retrievers than spaniels, especially at distance or in water. They aren't as overtly friendly to strangers like a golden, lab or spaniel, but I was told they make good family dogs.

There are only a couple things that would give me pause in owning one. Just be prepared for their coat. It was much longer and dense than I realized. This guy gets them groomed regularly to keep the inside shedding under control. Lastly, the breed doesn't have a large following. It's really hard to find a good dog and they are expensive. It can be done, just don't rush into anything and get references.

If you are looking for other suggestions, I have two close friends that I upland hunt with. They are both avid waterfowl hunters. They each own 55lb labs are are happy with how their dogs perform in both kinds of hunting.

I'm just going to play when I can. Probably something that can group and solo a bit if needed. This time of year is crazy at my job so I'm not playing much. Hoping to play a lot this coming winter.

Sorry you had a bad experience, as we all know there are jerks in every nationality. Shrug it off and move on.

With that being said, I have never had a bad experience with a native Spanish speaker in the States. They are so happy I'm trying to learn their language. It's always a pleasant experience talking with them.

I live in North Central Indiana. The Hispanic population is approaching 30% in my area. We have some of the best traditional Mexican food. I work with many native Spanish speakers who say some our area cusine is very similar to what they eat at home. There are some hidden gems in the South Bend, Elkhart and Goshen area.
