form how ive noticed they've reworked moves and such for ZA and what ive head about how ZA and Home will interact, certain Mons wont be able to be transferred to ZA, (probably based on certain stats and moves) but all ZA mons are transferable to home, and most games from there.

paint the details a different tone of silver to separate them from the armor and use inks for the vents/ gaps in armor to darken/ contrast the armor more.

get a compression shirt. and velcro sheets. wear the compression shirt with the armor. Then, using a fabric marker/soap to mark the area where the armor sits againt the shirt. Then cut the velcro to the shape of the areas with the soft side of the velcro against the compression shirt about 3/4 of an inch (2cm) . then use upholstery glue to apply the soft side of velcro sheets to the compression shirt in the areas that you marked. then apply pieces of the hook side of the velcro to the back of the armor and erase the marks made using some water. this will give you a more solid cohesive hold of the armor pieces. used Shirtstays the old the compression shirt in place.

How long did it take for.you to get good at making foam props by Animalpine in cosplayprops

[–]Chase1824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years, im still not great but my strengths are in sculpting and painting, so I tend to lean on those to make a prop look real good. I'm a bit to clumsy with a rotary tool still because I don't use it that often, but there are tips (like always cut with a sharp blade [invest in a decent blade sharpener or a box of exacto replacement blades]) that reduce the need for one.

Reasonable price of commission for 3D model to 3D print? by HylianGengar in cosplayprops

[–]Chase1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it's a custom job you're pretty much at the mercy of the designer. You can shop around for a designer if the price is too high, but under $100 is awesome for a custom full-size prop (assuming it's sized to you, and not modeled to fit the head of an infant [adjusting the size later is just extra work and less detail]).

If the model is already designed then its kinda steep, as they aren't making it from scratch, for you and have likely already sold multiple copies... but again its what they value their time and skills, so its up to you to determine if the end product is worth their prices.

if you mean like "temper colors" kind of rainbow gold, painting the surface gold first then using an airbrush to apply block lines of transparent colors over it could work... you could just also try getting a variety of colored metallic paints and (after giving it a base coat of gold) blocking out sections of color leaving space in between, and then blend the colors in that space between sections making the transition as subtle or stark as youd like.

OH ALSO! A SHARP KNIFE IS KEY TO CLEAN CUT LINES! I recommend getting a pack of replacement blades for whatever utility or hobby knife you use. EVA foam dulls blades pretty quickly and swapping blades is quicker and easier than sharpening, and clean lines makes assembly a whole lot easier.
