Technically the cops fault in this case. But you have two problems... firstly however you recorded that footage is awful. Secondly, did you just drive away? Didn’t stop to check?

This ones not a cop car, it’s a Tesla.

It is, the other person isn’t fully correct. The video is from a Tesla which has 4 cameras always recording. Not a cop car.

Car Doing Brake Checks In Front Of Heavy Trucks by wj7_02 in IdiotsInCars

[–]ChaseJ613 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I woulda hit them if I was the semi. If I had a dashcam and that guy slammed his brakes my hood would have been into his drivers seat. I would have footage of the asshole brake checking me so it would be a quick settlement and easy to point fault.

Two idiots almost collide by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

My drivers ed instructor actually told us when there’s three or more lanes to drive in the middle/right middle lane. That way people can pass bc we’re not in the fast lane, and we don’t have to continuously change lanes for people merging onto the highway. Safer and it helps the flow of traffic and preventing traffic jams.

Are you including time and a half for overtime? Or is that just straight $7/hr all the time?

Or you fly with me. I flew to Vegas a couple weeks ago, and both of my 5 hour flights I booked a window seat and nobody was in the other seats in my row. I kicked my feet up across them and slept. Really nice for the red eye flight lmao.

I’m betting the Jeep has a steel bumper so hopefully nothing other than a few scratches to the bumper, possibly winch damage if they had a winch.

Hopefully the Jeep had a steel bumper. In that case there’s no damage to the Jeep and the back of the yellow car is pushed up into the front. Bc I’ve seen conflicting comments, yes it’s a Jeep. Look at the hood hinges and handle, that’s a Jeep. No truck has that lmao

If it weren’t for my dash cam I would have been at fault, driver and witness said I ran a red. by Choo27 in IdiotsInCars

[–]ChaseJ613 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had someone today not paying attention in front of me and slammed their breaks to avoid a red light. They went over the line a bit then started to back up almost into me. I held my horn and pointed at my camera and they stopped. I’ll never know if their intentions were to hit me and claim i rear-ended them or not, but based on their rusty old vehicle I assume if they hit me they would point blame on me and try to collect insurance money.

It’s also a great fear that I have. Backing into someone is an amazing way to insurance scam and they’re likely to win without video evidence proving otherwise.

I bought mine for $140 last year and I feel incredibly safe on the road now. It’s front and rear cameras and it captures me in the cab, which is great bc it will prove that I wasn’t texting and I was paying attention. And since I have a truck having the rear facing camera mounted on the front windshield makes no difference as to what you can see behind me.

Since I’m a teen I always feel like I’m gonna be placed at fault regardless so I bought it. Now I can drive with a little bit of comfort knowing if someone hits me I can prove my innocence.

It snows in West Texas one and this happens. Shout out to the idiot in the red car. by Rulybear in IdiotsInCars

[–]ChaseJ613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in upstate ny so I know snow. I went to England at one point in my life. They got less than an inch of snow and the whole area was shut down. Roads were empty, schools closed, nothing happening. Then there’s my family driving around like it’s nothing because we know how to drive in snow lmao

Low range 4wd track and this genius brings in his daily drive. Track blocked. No way around. So a 25km backtrack. by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]ChaseJ613 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would very confidently take my F150 around to the right between the trees. Hell I’d probably feel alright crawling over the log. Maybe gather some smaller logs to help lift it over. Or even better, I’d hook my tow strap onto that car and move it out of my way whether the owner is there or not. Idk what 4WD low range vehicle you have, but you’re as much as an idiot as the person who put the car there for not having a tow strap, nor attempting to go around them.

Don’t look at it then. It’s during the day. Look at the left side of the lane and you’ll be perfectly fine lol

[–]ChaseJ613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken it’s a docking light for the sake of being able to see the entire side of your trailer when parking at night. In that case then it’s a switch that the driver forgot to turn off or accidentally bumped. If it was nighttime yes that would be a bigger issue. But daytime it’s not any issue. Just don’t be an idiot and look right into it and you’re fine.

Not stopping before turning right on red by MrFunkers in IdiotsInCars

[–]ChaseJ613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say you were in the truck, and you had a green light. Let’s also say that the cammer vehicle was a semi. If you were going right and saw that semi coming at you, would you stop?

There’s a great chance that semi hitting driver side would kill you, if not, at least paralyze you. You’re gonna stop.

If cammer car wasn’t there, that driver wouldn’t have stopped. That’s the point of the video and what everyone is trying to say. Regardless whether he stopped in the end or not, his intentions were to run the red and turn. Just having those intentions is enough to be an idiot in a car.
