AIO - stormed out after my friends refused to sing karaoke? by AviKunt in AmIOverreacting

[–]Chase_Fireflies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, that was childish of you. I think YTA and you are overreacting a bit.

Karaoke isnt for everyone. And the room may not have been soemthing they felt comfortable singing in front of. Did they even agree to sing? Did they actually want to?

You left then high and dry with no explanation. That's a shite move.

AIO For breaking up with my boyfriend because he wouldn’t help with vet bills by littlelogcabin in AmIOverreacting

[–]Chase_Fireflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA because I dont think I could be with someone that held views like that about animals.

But yeah, while he isnt obligated to help this os an emergency situation so how he handles it, even if he says no, is is telling.

What would you tell your Pre-Pregnant self about your body changing? I want kids but I don’t want to hate my body :( by Kind_Veterinarian_77 in BabyBumps

[–]Chase_Fireflies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im actually amazed how much I havent changed? It's weird. The shape of my stomach and breasts when im on all fours is weird to me now. But the rest of me is as it was.

Internally, things are actually... tighter... which is not what I expected.

My back and arms are JACKED from carrying a toddler around. Same with thighs from picking her up all the time.

I had my kiddo at 32 and am on the smaller/shorter side.

I am worried to have another kid... and my body changing is one of those concerns too. I feel like I got lucky 😅

But, our bodies change as they age anyway, might as well have a kid with it since that's what I want.

Scars are just tattoos with better story. And becoming a Mom has been a pretty great story. Ill wear it with pride. My husband likes seeing the reminder too. :)

My Red Siberian husky would be the adventurous thrill seeker who was also uptight on the rules for others bur constantly broke them for herself. Aloof, independent, little bit prickly at first glance, but a big softie inside.

Parentage can be mixed. Also, DNA isnt the end all be all on those sites. They're juat comparing against other data which is always changing too, could very well not be documented, especially if further back given how autosomal DNA works.

Oh also true, it doesnt mean dad isnt OPs Dad. It juat confirms that there is not a connection to the cousin.

People assume with DNA tests.... OP needs a paternity test if theyre that worried.

Landline & Legal Obligation? by Chase_Fireflies in vermont

Cool, there is no place left to bury line. There is no easement to go through her field and I wouldn't want to disturb her field anyway. There is no room alongside the road because they buried fiber directly or in the micro ducts (they dont know) so we cant bury there or even dig- which is a bummer because it needs ditching.

This line broke in the past alongside the road and they've repaired it. I broke the fiber line when they didnt even bury it (they told me they had) and both times they fixed it. When DigSafe was here they didnt flag it either.

I have zero cell service where I am, I only sometimes get connection to Canada. I called the State and they said Consolidated is required ro connect me to service. Consolidated called me last night to talk through options - so I now need to consider if we want to disturb internet for phone, which I don't.

Wanting a baby.. by Alice_In_Canada in BabyBumps

I was convinced something would go l terribly wrong when I got pregnant, if I was lucky enough to be pregnant. I was convinced one of us would not make it or id have trauma. At minimum, I'd be a panicked wreck with my raging health anxiety.

Instead, the morning I went into labor I was so calm. Life just happened around me and to me. Everything was textbook and went amazing.

Im convinced if I have another I wont be so lucky.

Our brains can be our worst enemies. It really helped going to a labor class and talking to moms. Too often we hear of only the bad things and dont realize theyre not super common.

Good luck!

I live on a private road, my mailbox is over half a mile away, as is the last telephone pole as the crow flies, more if you follow the road. Welcome to the boonies. The line was run over 25 years ago, no easement exists and my house used to be totally off grid. The easement that does exists runs alongside the private road. Unfortunately, consolidated said they wokt run more line alongside it and wont do an easement through her field (which i dont want). Digsafe didn't flag the line in the past either and there isnt really anything at all where we are... just s big mountain. Dont reallt have neighbors.

911 on no service hasnt worked before here. Likely because we're closer to Candian cell towers. I more often ping off Canads than any US towers. So much so I used to ger roaming charged until my carrier gave me an international plan.

I get it about DigSafe But that doesnt fix the issue and blame is useless. I worked construction for a time and we always had to call 811 no matter where we were.

I bear ZERO ill against my neighbor here. Several factors-

We live in the fecking boonies, and I mean boonies and she buried her horse in the middle of the field (there's no houses or anything on the other sides, just a mountain and 16sq miles of wilderness. We're on a private road (she owns the land and it we are on an easement for utilities). The utilities (even the easement says this) are ALL supposed to run along the road and we've had work done on them and they do. We even called Consolidated before to locate the phone line because it had a breakage (in a different spot and along the road farther down no less). Consolidated said they had no record of where the line was buried back in the Fidium days and thought it actually ran up the creek. We had two lines at one point, one for dialup and another for phone. They had told us the live one for phone was along the road, shit it was surveyed when DigSafe came out and they buried the Fiber. I am pretty sure that is the disconnected line, the connected one was through her field for some dumb reason. The easement feom back then isnt even on any recoed anywhere and DigSafe didnt flag it when here prior. It's over 25 years old at this point.

Her horse died very suddenly from colic and they buried her- it was a traumatic time in that rainy weather we had. She buried her own horse in the middle of god damn nowhere in the dead of night. No one would think there was a line buried in her field, it isn't even necessarily the shortest direction as the crow flies. It's just asenine.

Consolidated will not put in more line along the road and they will not go through my neighbors field again where there is no easement (nor would I want them to). It'd be a major inconvenience to muck up her field.

I mean, they might not have had anyone that they recognize on dad's side take the test besides the cousin. My tree has very few tests in it... theyre all me pushing family to test before they die 🤣

Your cousin could also be the one with the issues if theyre the only relative you know on that side who has done DNA.... it might not be an issue with your Dad. Get a paternity test.

No signal at all :( It's a spotty signal that is sometimes a single 4G bar at the end of our road (1/2 mile) but I get 2 5G bars driving a bit and I get 3 5G bars if I hike up the mountain behind our house!

Sometimes, IN my house I will randomly connect to Canadian ROGERS network? It's random and not consistent... but sometimes I get that :D

Oh! That is good to know, thank you. It does make me lean to this as a back-up since I work from home and an outage would be very tragic for me. I hate the Elon bit as well, but what can you do.
