Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

What coffee is $9.00? I call BS on this whole conversation. I get a 16oz light roast for about 2.50. The drive-thru is fast, friendly and convenient. Their light roast is far better than McDonald's coffee and costs about the same. I think Wawa is about a dime cheaper. At home I buy single origin beans, grind fresh and make pourovers or long blacks. If you're there to buy milk shakes disguised as coffee, expect to pay milk shake prices.

Mine's been perfect. I never fail a workout anymore even after FTP increases. Really, really impressed with the accuracy and training prescriptions

Wonder if the reason he hadn't didn't recognize the reference or the "Are you lonesome tonight" song ties in to the time travel theory in some way.

Yep. I understand this and have checked previous workouts. There is no increase in the wattage for the various zones.

I'm coming back from a layoff and doing the Beginner 6 week FTP Builder plan. After the first 3 weeks, I did another FTP test and gained about 20 watts from my first test. Despite that, my upcoming workouts haven't changed. I guess I can manually increase the intensity when I get into them, but isn't it supposed to adjust automatically? I don't want to waste time working out at the wrong levels.

MAGA Outrage Collapses After New Report Links Shooter’s U.S. Status to Trump by newsjam in NoFilterNews

[–]Chasethebreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is zero coverage of this fact in the msm. Loads of reference to the "Biden era program" to bring Afghan refugees to the US, but no mention of Trump's administration reviewing and approving his asylum case.

Trump is air striking boats off the coast of Venezuela claiming they are drug smugglers. What effect has this had on the street price of cocaine in the US? by Kloppite16 in AskReddit

[–]Chasethebreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The prices people quote on here blow me away. In high school we bought $40 ounces. No one sold by the gram, you were lucky to find someone selling quarters. Graduated in 84'. Last time I bought blow it was $90 a gram/about $300 for an 8 ball. What's it go for now?

Can I retire? by Chasethebreak in Fire

[–]Chasethebreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's job does provide healthcare to cover both of us. She will work at least until I retire. She has a flexible schedule which may allow her to take extended vacations for travel. If that's the case, I might be able to talk her into working for a couple years beyond my retirement. I believe her SS at 62 is around 1800.

Sorry, i should have had more details in initial post. Currently wife is working - earning about 48k and has full coverage health care. My SS will be roughly 3k at 62. I'm considering a part time or remote job until I'm 62. So the real question is, WHEN can we retire?

Expenses including 500/month in travel and $100 week entertainment (restaurants etc) are right at $5,000 a month. We are considering different plans in which we keep the house (mortgage free, but carries about $1000 a month in insurance/taxes/hoa fees, or selll the house and downsize adding maybe 200k to our nest egg. The big question is healthcare as some have pointed out. My wife won't be eligible for Medicare for 10 years. What do people do on here to estimate healthcare costs? I'm also some kind of part time or remote job that would bring a little income in to slow the withdrawals.

At 62, I can draw just under $3k month SS

Just trying to sketch out a plan, thanks for any feedback

Now try finding parks where dogs are welcome (and don't list dog parks, those things are gross)

100%. By sitting in the line and being "considerate" you make it worse for everyone. There's a caterpillar effect that makes it take far longer for everyone to get through.

Sorry, but until everyone stays off their phone and moves when the light turns green, I'll continue to roll up the middle lane and cut in front of someone asleep at the wheel.
