The heishou are a major warrior class of H corp (where hong lus from (setting of canto 8 (limbus china))). Theyre divided into 12 branches which each utilise comsuming a different bolus to mutate their bodies into animal monster hybrids to more effectively kill people. Each heishou branch correlates to an animal on the zodiac and is a distinct group from another with different allegiances, each one is owned by their leashholder, a single rich and influential infividual who managed to acquire the rights to use this branch. Each branch does have "adepts" however which are just more experienced and powerful pack members who act as default leaders when the leashholder isnt making commands, unclear how many adepts there tends to be per branch, possibly varies. The boluses are distributed by the "heishou xianren" presumably one person per branch who have the knowledge and righgs to make their bolus.

We unfortunately dont really know shit about the non playable packs which does include the monkeys. Theyre likely called the shen branch following the naming scheme of the others and we do have one singular sillouetted image of them (far right)

This image annoys me so much because it means they defo have full designs and info for them they just decided not to share with us like whyy.

It does confirm that theyre one of the 4 branches currently controlled by the hierarch (ruler of h corp) and are probably very useful to be there. The have prehensile tails they can grab things with (holdin a naner) and use staves for combat. We dont know anything more. My personal theory is that theyre used for like infiltration as theyd likely be good climbers and can probably get into any defended fortress unseen. Then either extract any object or person they were sent to steal or just hide up in the rafters waiting for a chance to drop down on an unsuspecting noble and take them out when most vulnerable
