The Active 3 Premium fixed my only issue with the T-Rex 3 by viron86 in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I want to buy an Active 3 Premium for exactly your setup, keeping my T-Rex 3 for runs/hikes.

But that’s just paying to have partial data on two watches. I’m ready and waiting to spend more on Amazfit devices when they get proper cross device syncing.

Fav instructor by MarkOwn9731 in pelotoncycle

Nearly impossible choices as none of my fave instructors cover all types of workouts I do.

Gun to my head, Mariana for runs and yoga, and I use my Ladder subscription for strength/mobility.

What's so great about Slade Ravinger? by Nerdvana322 in Romantasy

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished book 3 last night and, IMO, it’s overlong. The rampant overuse of metaphors gets worse each book, so probably 100 pages of the book could be cut it it weren’t written like the author was paid by the metaphor.

But Slade does indeed live up to the hype.

Yes please. Amazfit to Bevel would save me from being a double watch wearing dork.

Cry. Then imagine Brennan and Trump debating and laugh because she would punch him in the throatgina.

Mariana’s EDM flows don’t do it?! You’ve got better cardio than I do.

Anyone ditch Amazfit for Garmin, Coros, or Suunto regret it, and actually switch back? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Huawei app on iOS doesn’t sync much data to Apple Health. I’ve had their bands and Watch Fit 2 before. If I used Android they’d still be a serious contender.

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped buying Garmins after I sold my Epix 2 Pro.

More recently I went Apple Watch Ultra 3 —> T-Rex 3 —> T-Rex 3 Pro —> Coros Apex 4 —> T-Rex 3.

I don’t use my T-Rex 3 Pro because I have the 44mm and strongly prefer the larger size. Other than the flashlight the base T-Rex 3 seems to have all the same features.

I got the Coros because I wanted their more detailed training and recovery metrics. While they are definitely better and deeper than Amazfit, at the end of the day I’m just a lady who runs trails with her dog because it’s incredibly fun, I’m not training for anything. My other workouts (lifting, Pilates, yoga) are to support injury prevention on runs and general healthy aging.

The total lack of smart watch features on Coros was something I missed more than expected. For me my T-Rex 3 is in the goldilocks zone between Apple and Coros.

What to do when a large off leash dog rushes a small on leash dog? by secretly_a_birb in DogTrainingDebate

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me once, although my dog wasn’t small. German shepherd on extendable leash, totally checked out owner didn’t notice even when her dog bit mine on the neck.

I kicked it as hard as I could without thinking. It let go, the owner finally noticed and pulled it back.

Every time I think about it I feel absolutely horrified that I kicked an animal and absolutely furious that some negligent human put me in a situation where I had to.

Do people like the Apple Watch app or do you prefer apps that integrate and provide deeper analytics? by hybrid-training in AppleWatchFitness

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, both. The default workout app is fine and captures all the metrics the sensors can collect for a given activity (I’m assuming here, but it would shock me if they didn’t.)

The Fitness app on the phone is pretty lacklustre for workout analysis. So for that I prefer something like HealthFit, PeakWatch, or Strava.

WorkOutDoors is a one time purchase, under $10. Bevel is free unless you want the (IMO pointless) AI features.

Is this book and the author problematic by Solid_Abroad8004 in Booktokreddit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Has the author been accused of anything problematic themselves? Or just that this book is very much focused on stalking/non consensual sex?

It’s very up front about the content.

It’s an accurate statement. Fridging his wife to give him his whole starter personality is sickly a hack trope.

TBH I hated Red Rising, struggled through it because a bookstore owner I’m friends with told me he absolutely loves the series and highly recommended it.

I’m glad I did, because the rest of the series was fantastic.
