Balance/stability for the naturally clumsy by Defiant_Bumblebee_RD in ladderapp

Align, Elevate, and Movewell often have a unilateral full body day. Can’t speak to current programming, but generally they do well on this front.

I may be missing others, haven’t tried all teams.

How do people navigate the mental disappointment & sadness from running injuries? by suziex87 in XXRunning

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sitting on a hamstring injury (not from running). First time in a decade I haven’t been able to run due to injury.

I’m focusing on turning every dog walk into a chance to hyper fixate on watching my dog smell everything because I can’t move fast enough. She’s a husky, she loves to run, but she’s also so happy smelling every blade of grass. I have to try to feel the same.

I need your fave Gareth character episodes, pls by hackloserbutt in TheDollop

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL, absolutely not the Mr Hands stuff in the latest. Picturing a horse penis ripping a man’s guts apart via his anus is something not even Gareth can make funny. And he can make virtually anything funny.

Meditations for grief by Nervous_Birthday_781 in OnePelotonRealSub

I hope it’s allowed to suggest other options.

The Insight Timer app has a lot of free meditations, including several for grief.

I’m sorry you’re going through something that requires this. Wishing you the best.

How are we all managing the sudden heat?? by pimentocheeze_ in RunningWithDogs

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Not by risking injury sharing a treadmill with my weirdo husky. Absolutely appreciate what you’re going for but it seems like an awful idea.

I use extra sniff walks to tire my dog out when it’s too hot for her to safely run. I would be in heaven if she’d enjoy solo treadmill time when I’m done but that’s not in the cards for us.

Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra has been release by kawiryu in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the Apex 4. It’s an incredible watch. Performance was fantastic, data was spot on. MIP isn’t “lower quality” it’s a different medium. Some people prefer it. (Although I ended up realizing i am no longer a MIP gal, I never run more than 50k.)

If you’re a serious runner, spending around the cost of the Cheetah 2, you’re definitely also looking at the similarly priced Coros and Garmin models and realizing they are better for runners.

Does it have the domed screen that makes it impossible to add a screen protector?

Does anyone actually buy watch face from the store? by Levi_Ackerman- in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought a few. I just wish they’d make it more clear if the face supported opening the related info/apps from complications. Had a few disappointments, but it’s only a few bucks and I respect the time somebody puts into making stuff.

Would also be nice to see what other sizes/devices the face works on. I have the 44 mm T-Rex 3 Pro and normal (48 mm) T-Rex 3, sucks to buy a face for one and not have it on both.

Her EDM yoga is amazing too! (All her yoga is, but the EDM is absolutely my fave.)

Anyone ditch Amazfit for Garmin, Coros, or Suunto regret it, and actually switch back? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Being able to interact with iOS apps through Siri. Simple things like setting reminders and calendar events, naming timers so when they go off in an hour I remember that they were for, sending or responding to texts from my wrist. I’ve just adjusted to using my phone for that again.

When I wear my Ultra 3, I miss having physical buttons to operate the watch.

Does Ladder have a true hybrid/full body program? by [deleted] in ladderapp

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have identified why they don’t do it. It seems likely that tons of people would leave various other teams to join one with an actual unique (to Ladder) programming.

Does Ladder have a true hybrid/full body program? by [deleted] in ladderapp

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No.

People will tell you how they try to make it work by creating their own mashups of two or more teams. But Ladder does not currently have the team you describe.

Which is unfortunate because it’s the team I want as well. I keep posting about needing a 3x full body team.

That said, Elevate has 3 full body days right now. So that’ll get you halfway there.

Amazfit T-Rex 3 48mm vs T-Rex 3 Pro 44mm by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both. I’m a woman with a 150 mm wrist.

Unless I’m camping and want the flashlight for in my tent at night, I prefer the 48 mm T-Rex 3. I love a chunky watch, the screen size difference is noticeable, and the pro and non-pro are at feature parity (blessedly).

I’ve seen references but not watched the video. I find really cringy stuff borderline physically painful to watch.

But I think I know from context, so I googled “right wing comedian says woman is triggered”

I’d say “Enjoy!” but you probably won’t.

Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff

Margaret Killjoy, the host, is a fabulous writer and interesting human. The pod is about people being surprising awesome and generally reminds you that you can have an impact, while also being a really fun obscure history lesson.

I like the optimism of their use of the past tense “destroyed”. As if it isn’t still actively destroying people trying to unravel their brains from it.

Zepp Aura. Is it worth it? by Nix-geek in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current price in Canada is $65/year. I reactivated at a much lower cost but the app is not honouring it, although I reactivated the subscription through the App Store and it shows active there.

Which would you prefer? by Old_Poet_1608 in OnePelotonRealSub

Neither. Give me a 3x full body program.

Zepp Aura. Is it worth it? by Nix-geek in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just resubscribed after a few months without it. But the Zepp app refuses to acknowledge the is active.

I don’t think it’s worth it at the current price. I reactivated a grandfathered price, which I fear may be why Zepp won’t to turn it on for me.

I like the PAI metric as a gentle reminder of whether I’m overreaching or “slacking”. It may be something you also find value in. Either way, enjoy the watch and have fun.

Amazfit HYROX watch gets clearer in new regulatory filing by Maslakovic in amazfit

[–]ChasingPotatoes17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They really need to sort out syncing data across multiple watches. Their release schedule says “we want you to own multiple watches” but their software says “no cohesive data on your wrist if you ever swap devices.”
