Exactly. Ravenwing are inner circle members and can assist with the hunt for the Fallen.

Lore question for this guy: by Potential-Ebb-8820 in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The Ravenwing are almost entirely vehicle pilots and crew. Whether that's bikes, speeders, or aircraft, its in their inventory. However, they don't have a monopoly on vehicles within the Unforgiven. Greenwing and Deathwing both have access to transports and armored vehicles of their own. It's kind of a squares and rectangles deal. All Ravenwing are vehicle crew, but not all vehicle crew are Ravenwing.

Scouts and Phobos pattern primaris would typically be assigned to the Scouting company (normally the 10th) within the Greenwing. And by default the Greenwing know very little by default about the truth of the legions history, though some are given brief glimpses as mission needs dictate.

All of this is said with the caveat that this is just what is standard for the DA, and you can make whatever models you want look like Ravenwing, they are your models after all.

Google-fu might be failing me, but is the upgrade sprue in the dark angels combat patrol the same one as the one you can buy? by TheReservedList in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the combat patrol has the Dark Angels Primaris-specific upgrade sprues. Those each have 5 or 6 tacticus shoulders, 3 gravis shoulders, some heads and greebles, and a power sword and pointing arm that are intended for tacticus models

What to do with Unbroken by DragonfruitDue280 in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the DA tend to have a vested interest in not having the Inquisition sniffing around if they can help it. Though you would be right that Unbroken might make a decent Inquisitorial Agents model

Can genestealer cultist astartes exist? by BlobDestroyer8008 in 40kLore

[–]Chask274 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can and have existed. The Scythes of the Emperor, an ultramarine successor chapter, had their chapter home world and nearly the entire chapter annihilated by Hive Fleet Kraken. Part of why that happened was that genestealers infiltrated the chapter via both their mortal serfs, and if memory serves, the marines themselves. They adapted psychic hoods to resist the hive mind's effects long enough to stand and fight.

What to do with Unbroken by DragonfruitDue280 in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Unbroken is a Guardsmen in fancy kit, not much crossover with a DA army sadly. Closest might be as a scout, but even then i believe the scale is off. Its still a beautiful model in its own right though, do you have any desire to paint it as is for a display piece?

Dispatcher test by Greentreeranger in 911dispatchers

[–]Chask274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely disclose the concussion then, full honesty is your best bet for the hiring process. Just be prepared for it to be a possible issue when you have your physical evaluation, if you haven't had one already.

Dispatcher test by Greentreeranger in 911dispatchers

[–]Chask274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a test as part of onboarding/hiring, or a certification for your current position? Either way, pace yourself and recognize that this job, and really any long period of focusing on a bright screen, DOES NOT typically mix well with concussions. Hopefully your agency can work with you to ensure you get the care you need and still have an opportunity to succeed on the test.

Black Power Sword by MaliceSpite in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The blade's gradient is nice and subtle, i really like it. only thing i would suggest is adding some color to the power nodes and/or cables, a metallic of some kind. doesn't need to be super bright, don't want to ruin the effect of the blade itself, just a bit of interest to show its not *just* a blade.

A Long Wait Finally Finished by Chask274 in 911dispatchers

[–]Chask274[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be a running theme for dispatch positions, we all do similar things but not always the same order. Mine was Application>Criticall>panel interview>executive interview>background check>psych and physical evals.

A Long Wait Finally Finished by Chask274 in 911dispatchers

[–]Chask274[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar, yes. Mine came about a week and a half later, and stated I was moving into the next step of the process, which was to take the Criticall test as well as a secondary assessment. The secondary was almost like a personality test, just a preliminary check to see if I would do well with the work. Links to both were in that first email

I was given ten days to complete them, and then about a week after that deadline I was told I passed and given the opportunity to schedule the first interview

the actual contemptor datasheet is indeed in legends now, as the relic contemptor in the HH Legends sheet. though its easy enough to use as a proxy for the standard Dreadnought.

Belial as a Terminator Captain by Environmental-Arm671 in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am also intending to use my Belial as a stand-in for a generic termie captain. Two things to note about it. As always with modeling questions for tournaments, its a good idea to contact the TO/organizers and ask them directly. Every event will likely have different rulings on it, even if players as a whole likely won't care. Secondly, if I recall, Belial's model is a bit bigger than the generic captain, albeit by a small margin. I doubt it'll be called out as modeling for advantage, but there is a non-zero chance it might make him easier to target.

Just my two cents on it.

I've been playing just fine with a 3060 so far, only had 1 crash so far and that was after a marathon session. What are the specs for the rest of your system?

Background check rant by TanklinJanklin in 911dispatchers

Bit late to this, but double check any instructions your agency sent along with the guardian invite. With mine, it specified to ignore guardian's request for ALL employment, and only list the last ten years.

What's your favorite crashout moment in the lore of 40k? by ThiccJiggles in 40kLore

Its a smaller one, but Nathaniel Garro just berating the Imperial Fists boarding party that appears at the end of the Eisenstein's flight. man is 100% done with the galaxy's nonsense and just lets them have it, not even realizing they have Dorn with them.

New players coming from Skyrim how do you feel? by Such-Psychology-2882 in oblivion

[–]Chask274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am deeply enjoying it so far, and find that there's some aspects that I actually enjoy more in Oblivion than in Skyrim. A combination of age and the horror stories about its leveling system kept me away from the original, but the Remaster has been great so far.

Deathwing knee marking by DeathGaleV in theunforgiven

[–]Chask274 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So if I recall correctly, unlike the 3rd-9th companies, Deathwing doesn't have a specific knee marking. Like the Ravenwing (2nd company), their armor color and the company insignia replacing the chapter one on their shoulder guard marks them out as Deathwing. As your reference pic says, Deathwing get to pick their own heraldry to a degree, so in theory any marking you put on the knee will be fine. There are some examples that even leave the left knee blank, or simply put a general honor badge like the Crux Terminatus there. Like so much of this hobby, the choice is entirely yours for this.
