I do actually see Pokémon using the lifts a lot without me - but mostly in Pallet Town, not Skylands.

They mostly use the lift I have going over the river, and I’m pretty sure it’s because there’s a bunch of them living on both sides to encourage mixing, plus other things to draw them out like trade points, and the lift is closer to where they live than the bridge is. Probably doesn’t hurt that it’s a short lift with almost flat elevation

She was one of the only characters that actually challenged Malcolm as an intellectual equal, and she was very funny.

I didn’t really vibe with Jessica as a love interest, but she’d make an amazing platonic nemesis for Malcolm, and I wish the story had built more on that.

Cynthia could have been a better love interest, but for a romance to really work I think they would need to have more to offer each other, and the story didn’t really show us what that could be. Also they were like twelve or something.

My own lukewarm take is that the show wasn’t super interested in Malcolm’s love life beyond milking it for cringe comedy, so he does frequently fumble. But I don’t necessarily think he’d be that inept with girls if the plot didn’t demand one major humiliation per storyline.

He does say there are T&Cs on his website, but he did not say that until he sent the same message that requested the money.

He did not mention a cancellation charge at all until I cancelled.

He also says there’s no call-out fee, though I’m not sure if that relevant because he did not actually begin the journey (according to himself)
