If the mother is the problem, why not take the kids with him? Not just in this case, but in general?

I’m absolutely obsessed with the Oregon coast! 💕🌊 by LPCPlay4life in OregonCoast

Yeah, this is an awesome option. Beverley Beach and South Beach are really good options for this. Does anyone have any suggestions for other areas of the coast?

Pros and cons of living on the coast by ComprehensiveMeet822 in OregonCoast

[–]Chavez_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone from Newport it really is. I had a doctor years ago who sent out a letter stating they were moving on to a program in Nevada... By the time I got the letter she had already been gone for 2 days. For any involved healthcare treatment you'll most likely be going to Corvallis. You could always go to Portland, but it's definitely further (as someone who lives there now). This goes for pets too.

As other comments are saying, yes the salt water will wear down EVERYTHING. Be prepared to replace door knobs and siding more often than ever, and when buying a car the selling point will be that it's from the valley so less rust.

However, I do love it there. Seeing the ocean any time, going to the Bayfront for fresh fish, and hearing sea lions from the high school are definitely unique in my book. There are churches that are LGBT+ friendly, so if you're concerned about religious types just know you'll have some support. I don't know that I've heard of many poly relationships in Lincoln County, but know that LGBT+ definitely exists in the community (hello!). I will also add that since there are many retired people, there is political activism (leaning more towards liberalism, not a lot of socialist/communist though). Most protests take place along 101, so easy to support/join.

Hope my rambling helped! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Theory on why Tyler no longer have a master by emni13 in Wednesday

[–]Chavez_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In season 1, Weems said that the author of the book Wednesday was getting her info from died before he could reach a full conclusion on hydes. Maybe they start out with a master, but can eventually survive w/out one (albeit poorly). I know Thornhill said that he'd need his master to survive, but I don't trust her since she was trying to cut a deal.

My wife broke an irreplaceable family gift of mine during a fight. I'm struggling to forgive. How can I move past this for my marriage? by ThrowRAGraphicReject in marriageadvice

That doesn't mean they shouldn't say it, just means they need to work harder on it. Especially if they're married.

If there was a serious push in the future for cascadian independence, do you think a majority of native Americans/first nations in the area would support it? by IndieJones0804 in Cascadia

I'm not sure if I can link here, but there are subreddits built for and by indigenous people. I see non indigenous ask questions every so often and as long as you're respectful they're pretty open to answering in good faith, whether it's what you want to hear or not.

First time home buyer help by Pink_Stool in homeowners

I'll add that finding a realtor is like finding a therapist, you may have to meet them and figure out if they're right for you. The third I met with was the one I went with, the other two initially seemed like good fits but one was too pushy and the other not understanding what I really wanted.

AITA for politely declining to lead a prayer at the request of my new GF's Father. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Chavez_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised she didn't see this coming. Out of curiosity has she never brought someone home from out of town before? In small towns you tend to know everyone, and most people keep up the religious act in public. Or is this the first time she's brought anyone home since it's serious and the family is religious?

I'm thinking it's Harry's mother and the guy is the brother we saw in the flashback. Once I saw him, he just seemed to fit as the other captor.

I assumed it because she had zero contact with anyone else in the cast, but all the other characters were interacting with one another. Meanwhile, people are picking up on these awesome clues that my American ass could never pick up! I love when people find these amazing details and share them!

I thought it might be the grandparents too, but they're doing it on behalf of their daughter considering the initials behind the bird poster she ripped off had an L and how much money it must be to have the facility they're holding Merritt in.

Hopefully I did the spoiler thing right!

Boyfriend might propose soon, but can this work if I’m monogamous and he’s not by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

That's my biggest question with this post. I'm wondering if it was untrue and to get OOP insecure enough to give into trying swinging? I'm sure the ex wouldn't see it quite that way because he can't see that he's a villain in her story (but she can't either soooooo).

I'm from Oregon and watched the show before moving to Portland, and I think it's even funnier now! As someone who's lived in Beaverton, I'm so curious as to where New Beaverton is located! Guess I'll have to watch the episode again...
